How sharp are your ears and nose?

I find that women have much sharper ears and a greater sense of smell than men. At home I am the sole male member, with my wife and two daughters making up the rest of the team. I find that not only are their ears sharp, but their sense of smell too is very strong. I normally do not smoke but once in a while I do have an odd cigarette. The moment I come home they come to know that I have smoked although i may have taken a mouth freshener to remove the foul smell. As for hearing, my daughter cant sleep in the room with the wall clock. She says that the ticking of the clock keeps her awake.

My ears and nose are not very sharp. When I am asleep, I tend to forget whatever is happening in my surroundings so that ways it is really stupid of me. I think we should be little aware about the surroundings and their happenings.

Hello, My sense of smell is quite amazing. However, my ability to hear things has gone down severely ever since I bought an ipod. It is worth it though. Without music I would probably go crazy.

The first thin that struck me when reading your post was the word 'team' Very rare, at least here, to still here the man refer to his family as a 'team' and that has won you lots of points! Back to the topic. I am a smoker but that has not caused me to lose my sense of smell. I can smell my own smoke (disgusting, foul smell too) when I walk into my apartment from a walk outside or even when I come from the bathroom into the room where I have my computer. If I had a garden or a balcony I would get into the habit of smoking outside but sadly I haven't so I smoke at my computer which. I know, is very bad. I can smell freshly cut grass which reminds me very much of my home (I'm English but live in Italy) and that is a very 'nostalgic' smell. I can also smell gas. I can smell my own feet too but we won't go into that As for noises, I can hear them when there's nothing to hear and I'm never sure whether 'hearing things' is good, bad or a sign of old age. I can hear things in another room or even outside but then maybe have to ask a person close to me to repeat what they said. Whether women are better hearers and sniffers than men I have no idea. I have never stopped to think about it but as we women are better than them in many things well - you decide at the end of this topic! Have fun and happy Lotting!

I was blessed with a very poor sense of smell which came in very handy in my work. I used to work an ER and later in a police department. Both have people come in whether ill or drunk that tend to throw up which bothered everyone else a whole lot more than me because I couldn't smell it.

I think that most girls have better hearing and sense of smell. There was a study on t.v. once that said that guys have a better sense of taste and sight and the girls have better sense of smell and hearing. I think it was on 60 minutes.

I do have a sharper ears and greater sense of smell. MY hubby told me he stop smoking but he always try to smoke when I 'm not around. I can smell it every single time when he smokes, he usualy lies about it. I don't need to get too close to sniff, but I just can smell it.
