Is your desktop in a mess?

I keep cleaning it up, but when i download music or PDFs, i download it onto my desktop, which gets all messy again. I often forget to place the files into their respective folders or disks - and if i do, i forget which folder has what.
In the end, i push them all into a folder on my desktop - like we clean up a messy room by slashing away the garbage into a broom closet!

IF we keep doing on like this , we have to spare space on the hard disk for the unnecessary files and this means messing up with the computer and no one likes it .
the best way is to categorize the files to be saved ,to be deleted , and to be thought over again ,this will be definitely helping you to manage easily on the computer.
Happy My lotting!!

I can certainly relate to that because I too put everything on my desktop that I download. Sometimes if I specify another file folder I lose somewhere in the abyss of my computer! So I put all my files on the desktop so that I can find them. I'd try to put them in the proper place as soon as possible so that it doesn't get cluttered. The truth be told however, I'm a bit of a procrastinator and every six months or so I have to go through and do a complete overhaul of my whole computer and get rid of all the junk that I've accumulated since the last time I cleaned it up.
The "junk drawer" is my personal favorite way to stash all the junk that I accumulate so that nobody can see it. Until next time, happy posting!

I often save spreadsheets or documents to the desktop and download updates etcetera to the same area, although I do not leave then there.
As soon as I instal an update I archive the file for future use in case I have to reload Windows or turn the system back in time. I also make a point of transferring documents to the correct directories as soon as I have finished with them.
I am rather pedanic about keeping the desktop tidy and cringe when I see someone's computer covered with shortcuts.

Thanks for your time.
My desktop is often filled with unused icons and forgotten files. Most of things that are there are probably because they dont belong anywhere else. I keep on planning to delete them, but then again, im not sure about losing the data in them, even its just a to-do list.
You must have everything organized well in your PC.
Happy mylotting.

Yes, often mine will be like that.Every week i used to arrange them in their place, even then it become usual. The main reason is ,in the download manager, we are not properly selecting the destination drive or the location of the downloaded files. If we take on this, this will be rectified. Then the next thing is i will be creating temporary notepads, excel files and word files to store some thing with the thought of transferring them into the appropriate place later. But it will become the permanent one in the desk top itself.

My earlier system, had the desktop being a total mess. There were official files which i needed for dailu usage, then there were personal folders, which were not named properly. And it was this way for quite sometime, till i changed over to the laptop. Tryin to get much better organised in this and hope to keep it that way.

These questions are very general, but yahoo messenger, downloaded from a legitimate website (such as yahoo itself), should not mess up your computer.
As for the web cam, the web cam itself won't mess up your computer, but the software that comes with it, may cause parts of it's software to load when your computer starts up, which may reduce performance a little
