Who here are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints?
Who here has read the Book of Mormon cover to cover, and if you have how many times have you read it. I am not posting this for people to brag, but am curious as to how often members are reading the Book of Mormon.
Are you reading it through in a years time, like the Prophet Gordan B. Hinkley ask of us?
So far since joining the Church about 2.5 years ago I have read it every year. I am on my fourth time through it.
How do you guys study the Book of Mormon? Do you just read it like a novel and pick up what you can? Do you read and analize every chapter? Do you read and analize every verse.
I am looking for ways to better my understanding of the book, and learn better study habbits.
I know that faith is more important than knowledge, but I feel if you have both you will be better equiped to spread the gospel and to answer other peoples questions about it.
Please respond, and help me out here.

I am a member. I read it through once when I first joined (Oct 2006), but I am kind of a slacker, and just kind of picked and chose my verses. My family and I have recently started reading it every night after supper. We read 10 verses (or until the end of the chapter) and then discuss it every night.

Nice to see another member on here. I also joined the Church in 2006, in August. I love it, I am so happy to have finnaly accepted Jesus Christ into my life.
I would highly recommend reading it and studying it. I have read it about 5 times and love it more and more as I read and study it. I have found a lot of answers in it.
It is a truly inspired work of the Lord. I have read and prayed about it and have received my answer. Good luck with your reading.

I read it seven times, It's the most correct book I ever read. It makes my life in happiness and contentment. Book of Mormon stories are so great and I believe they are true. When I read it I felt a burning bosom in my heart even I not pray about it. That's the answer. I know it's true!

I read the Book of Mormon once a year from front to back like a novel. I also read on topics once a week as part of family night. I feel like when I spend a few minutes each day reading it I am more in the mind set to live the life I want to live and be the person I want to be. When I am reading it through I know I could pay better attention at times. I get reading and sometimes my mind gets stuck on a verse even though I am still cruising through the other words. I need to work on keeping my mind at the task.

I am a latter day saint, and i have read the book of mormon though not religiously, but i know that it is the word of God , and i know that a man will get nearer to God by reading and studying the book. And in order to understand the book one must read ponder and pray about it, and enlarge your study by looking for the meaning of every word on it, and apply each principle that you have learn, also try to memorize some verse.

I know that man will get closer to God by having a relationship with Jesus Christ, not the church. Read it twice, cover to cover. I like it, but I like the bible better. Keep things simple, praise Jesus. Mormonism does a lot of good, but a lot of bad. Follow Jesus, grasp the cross as the bible says you must. We do not work for our salvation, Christ did. They say you can read it and will know it is a true book and true church if you ask it in prayer. I was a member for near a year. Waited, and waited, and waited, and waited for the answer. I thought it came at one point, but it never did. And I have never felt better having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Do not let a church come between you and Jesus. My self esteem was greatly damaged being a member, and I was cast out as soon as I said I wasnt sure the church was true anymore., and treated as if my beliefs were me being basher. The mormons do not know how to love. They think following doctrine and acting on faith i show to love, when love comes from out hearts (more so when we have that relationship with Jesus)
