hi,you are definitely not the only one,..........many people have this habit, including me...
though nothing professional about it, i do it just for fun.......i have lots of photographs.....with friends, family, places we have visited....etc, etc,..good that you take a lot of pictures to....and yes, there serve as memories......i usually look back in them and feel happy about the good times.
And yes, i thing you are lucky to be in a place where you have deers and ducks in lake.....must be a beautiful place...

You are not the only one. I started taking photographs when I was 13 withthe cheapest camera available, way back in 1972. It was not even branded. I had to be creative to take good photos. I moved on to a slightly better camera in 1975. I began spending more time and money on photography from March 1978.
Yes, I took many photographs. Flowers, buildings, sceneries, friends, and later on my family became the targets. Unfortunately all the photos taken when I was in the UK and others taken at home were destroyed in a fire in January 2002.
I am now still at it. Most of the time I carry a digital camera wherever I go to. I have no regrets doing so. Yesterday for example I had the opportunity to take photos of the competitors in Le Tour D'Langkawi after I was instructed to wait by the roadside to let them pass.
Photography is fun. Many members of my family have been bitten by the bug.
all the best in your picture snapping,
rosdimy

I also love taking pictures. I love capturing the moments and having souvenir of the people I've been with. The only problem is storage and organizing it. I have lots lots in my computer and I don't know how will I organize it to easily look at each pictures whenever I want to relive the moments and memories.
