My parents and I are living in different city. So I can not visite my parents very often. I really miss them and my parents also miss me so much too. I hope to live near with them in order to see my parents frequently.
Do you have the same feeling, and how often do you visite them?

Same here. Mjanne, you are not the only one who miss parents who are not staying in the same city with. I'm still considering myself lucky as it's about 2 hours drive from my home to my parents'. So, I normally went back like twice a month or the longest once a month. In between, I'll ring them up to chat and say hi to ensure they are in good condition. You can do so if you miss them. :)

In our law, it is the obligation of the parents to bread the children, and also the obligation of the children to support the parents. These days, it is said additional stipulations are imposed in certain regions, that the children are to provide emotional care as well as the material. They may be executed by frequent calls, regular visits, etc., of course based on sincere willingness, to make sure the aged are properly in peace.
Even if the elderly say DRYLY they are able to care about themselves, do not take it for truth, it definitely adds DEW when you express your concern, or share your joy with them. The worst thing to do is to separate them with their grandchildren, who seem to be the last resort to keep dreamy for quite some of them.

i am working here in manila and my parents are living in the province. because of the distance i cannot visit them every time i like to, but i usually set schedules for that. I do it when i dont have much work loads in the office. I visit them during important legal holidays. I need to plan it so i have budget for travel, i also give money to my mother and father, as well as buying groceries for them. :) i miss them a lot, but i have to work here in manila, i am the bread winner in the family.

My and my mom live over 1100 miles from each other. We don't get to visit very often. We just recently went 4 years with out seeing each other. It's always been hard not being able to visit here and share in our special moments with her. Once we do get time together, we make the most of it.

I am very lucky. I live pretty close to my pareents (at least in the same town) and as they are getting much older I can check on them daily. I either call them or stop by every day to check and see if they need anything from the store or sometimes I just drop in and visit with them for awhile.

Hi mjanne,
I live far away from my parents. I visit them about 2 times each year.
I feel a little guilty because I don't visit them frequently.
But I call them once each week.
I know it is just not enough and my parents may think I'm not a good daughter.

yes, we are almost the same. After graduated from university, I came to a different city, but still I have time to visit my parents, maybe about 3 times each years. But when I got married, especially when I had my baby, I cant meet my mom and daddy, only one time each year in Chinese Spring Festival. But I call to my parents about every 2 days, which could repay my regret for not having time to visit them.
