My Swimming Experience

Hey everyone. I wanted to start a discussion with anyone who swim competitively or wants to know more about technique, warming up, etc. I was a competitive swimmer for years. It actually consumed my life from the age of 9-21. During my swim career, I managed to become the fastest 11-12 swimmer in the country in several events back in 1996. I also qualified for Junior and Senior Nationals as well as Olympic Trials in 2000. Some of my training partners growing up were Amanda Beard, Aaron Peirsol, Jason Lezak, Stacianna Stitts, Michael Cavic and other world class swimmers. Anyways, enough about me and more about you. For this discussion, I want to talk about flexibility. Swimming is one of the only sports which requires pure strength and flexibility. Stretching before and after a swim workout is definitely recommended. We always spent 20 minutes before and after practice stretching. This helped me recover faster and reduce soreness especially after a hard practice. What stretches work best for you? How many of you actually take stretching seriously before swim practice? Any other questions shoot it my way and I will start a discussion on it.
