Do you appreciate people dropping a lot of forwarded text messages?

It's probably all in a day's works and you come home all tired, and fatigued and you feel like you could use a few personalized text message to inspire and perk you up. Or probably you woke up in the morning, and you checked your cellphone to find the text message from your sweetie saying "goodmorning".
However, at the end of the day, you checked your inbox, and was surprised to find 10 messages received, all forwarded or perhaps graphic texts, and all from the same person who barely even means a thing to you. Worse, this person does this to you several times a week.
What would you feel? Isn't it annoying sometimes?
For me I don't appreciate it. I'd rather receive one text message in a month that is personalized, composed just for you, asking how you've been and all that.
How about you?

Yes, i have friends in college who send me forwarded text messages everyday... if the quote is nice then i'll keep it but it isn't worth it then i just delete it.. i also like graphic text messages and other cool stuffs like MMS pixies...

MMS seems fine. And some graphics. I tend to keep the funny quotes and discard the mushy, too dramatic ones. :-D

It would seem that propgress is turning us into cold robot-like people. We do things as though we are programmed to some sort of automatic setting with no thoughts involved much of the time.
I receive these texts too from particular people who seem so happy sending the same text to all those people in their phone book. That's what puts me off. Some messages might be quite sweet but when I realise that I am one in a million and not the one in a million to have received it then I am left cold by it.
I agree with you that one special message once in while where the sender has composed it especially for me is worth more than all those other forwards.

Bah! Chain messages must be the biggest time waster ever invented!

They advance too as technology advances. Have you noticed. They're even in emails. Grrrrrr

Definitely, we share the same opinion. We don't even know if the sender even read the message. What's most annoying? Chain messages! Which tends to make you paranoid sometimes.

HI, it's nice to bump into you again. Yeah, sometimes, some people find it hard to catch up with the rapid technological advances.
Here in the Philippines, texting is cheaper than calling so despite the many inconveniences, people opt for it.

I do appreciate forwarded messages it's just that it kind of lacks originality from the sender. I would appreciate it more if she would just compose a simple message which i think is a lot more sincere. I appreciate forwarded jokes which makes me laugh sometimes. Chessy or mushy forwarded messages are just too boring!

Yes, corny.
and....uh-huh...boring.
I save some text jokes too. Sometimes, though, I receive 5 same text jokes and they just don't make me laugh anymore so off they go to the trash bin.

hi theresaaiza! ... i am guilty of this one! i am an sms addict hehehe.. and i do send a lot of text messages, including forwarded ones! thoughts, quotes, sayings, jokes, mms, graphics messages. but i do not use the SEND to ALL, like forward one kind of message to the whole group. i still scan and check if the receiver will appreciate it. like some friends, i just send serious quotes, some other friends, all jokes - pure jokes only, or for my older friends, quotes from the Bible or words of wisdom to my younger sis and nieces... things like that. they (forwarded messages) should be sorted out too so that the receiver will deem it appropriate and appreciate it! all my friends are aware of this already so they are not pissed off! .... hehehehe... but i don't send like 10 in a day.. i give gaps .. no definites schedule... sometimes i do not send by purpose so they would miss my forwarded and they would text me, "why the silence?" ... so i know they really appreciate it.

not much....i think its a useless owrk...sending forward message twice a day is pardanoable...but flooding with messages just to empty their message balance is totally waste of time

So you told your sister to stop too? :-) Everybody needs a few disciplinary measures when it comes to that. It's really annoying. Besides, it clutters my inbox.

That's true but I know some people who does it always just to catch attention or make use of unlimited text promos and not really well-meaning.

I don't get many text messages through my cell phone, but I do get a lot of forwarded e-mails. There are days that I will get over 100 new messages in my inbox. And like the texts, some are from people that are hardly in good standing with me anyway. Many times I just ignore them and try to clean up my inbox. When I went in to have my baby, I came home and had 768 email messages! That's not even including the junk mail. It drives me crazy, and I too would like the personalized message that actually means something.

Hi there. When I was younger (like, two years ago *lol*), I used to be a serial forwarder of text messages, especially jokes or quotes that I found amusing (because angst-ridden, mushy quotes are so high school ). I guess it was a popular thing to do back then since my friends also did it so I thought nothing of receiving 10, 20, 100 forwarded messages a day. But now, well, I could say I find it mildly annoying, especially if I'm waiting for a really important message or a message from a really important person or both. Don't get me wrong, I still appreciate jokes and other amusing stories from time to time but most of the time, once I receive a quote, I delete it right away without even bothering to read it. I guess it means I did some growing up in this case.

1 message received.....(opening) MUSHY QUOTE from NEKONYATA....(delete). LOL
Yes, everything you said are so true. And I do delete them right away. Have you received those extra long love story of so-and-so with tragic and melodramatic endings? Sometimes the endings are even horror in nature? Duh, so TWILIGHT! (no offense, twilighters!)

I usually just glance at it and delete it, I don't forward some gabbage to people.

Some messages are nice but all the same if they didn't come from the heart, yes you are right, it's just like garbage. (But you wrote gabbage...*wink*. That must be cabbage and garbage combined. Still makes sense.) :-D

I think so too! I find it annoying at times and distracting. Usually, when I receive forwarded messages, I don't really read through all of it and I delete it almost immediately... It's a waste of space in the inbox and a waste of time.. LOL...

Hi nette, i agree.Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the effort but I would prefer receiving a simple hi than wordy forwarded messages that seem to have lost its real meaning.
