I make homemade breads fairly often. The usual's in our home, home made white loaves, white dinner rolls, Native American Flat Bread, cornbread, biscuts: For "sweets" it would be Banana Bread or Cinnamon Twists (nicknamed twisted britches in our house).

I prefer brown bread myself. I beleive its more healthy, but anyway, I love the flavour of wholewheat. I think the only way to know what is in your food is to make your own

My mother used to make Homemade bread quite often when I was growing up. We have done it a couple of times here. I Love Homemade bread and could eat a whole loaf in one sitting.

What do you prefer.
My favourite is wholewheat, with lots of butter.

I love to bake bread! A family favorite is potato bread. My favorite to make is honey wheat.

I don't think I've ever tasted potato bread - sounds great. I love potatoes, and bread

I do bake my own but not as often as I should (much nicer bread at half the price should be enough incentive!) I have a bread maker and find that is a boon for preparing the dough. I have rarely managed to get a perfect loaf when I allow it to do the whole job but it's great to wake in the morning to fresh bread done overnight!
The bread I enjoy most is sun-dried tomato bread but I also like to try and achieve something like the delicious walnut bread which I once bought on a trip to Germany! Otherwise I use about a half and half mix of strong wholemeal stone ground and white.
I'm also fond of doing pizza and calzone.

You seem more experienced than me. I just do the half and half wholewheat, probably similar to yours, but I only have a toasting oven, so I have to settle for rolls.

When I was a child, my Mum used to bake bread while we ate dinner. There was nothing better than that smell. In later years, I bought a bread maker, but it is not the same. Now you have me thinking about baking bread. The problem is, bread is so cheap in our local bakery, it is easy to be lazy.

Go for the simple life. And that doesn't mean the lazt life!
Why eat that plastic stuff when you know there is something far better tasting, and more heakthy too. Wholewheat bread has many health benefits.

I remember when I was a child, my Mum used to bake bread and there was nothing like it. She would use the heat of the oven from dinner to bake the bread. In later years, I even bought a bread maker, but it was never the same. There is nothing like the small of baking.....you now have me thinking about doing it :-)
