I absolutely hate Windows Vista. I had Windows Millennium for a long time (when everyone else had Windows XP) and I didn't think I could hate anything anymore than that... but I do.
It is very slow because it takes a lot of memory and processing power. Even though I have a large amount of RAM, I cannot do as many things at one time as I could with Windows ME (even though I had a smaller amount of RAM). It is very frustrating that things take longer to load and programs shut down (Crash) a lot more than before.
Anyone else in the same boat? Ready to switch to Macintosh yet?! LOL!

Hi busibee,
I hate windows vista too. When they came up with windows vista everyone was so excited. But it was just a big dissapointment for all of us.It consumes a lot of processing memory and primary memory, which slows down everything enormously. Its a curse to gamers i think.Even with a video card like 9600GT the games just refuses to give full resolutions. And to top it all it has crashing issues too.The only thing good about it is its visuals and the new graphical interface....But no one will sacrifice their computers performance for a good visual.

Vista is a total failure from Microsoft side. The most popular desktop client operating system launched by Microsoft are windows 98 and XP professional.Windows Millennium edition and Windows Vista is a failure from Microsoft.I once installed Windows Vista and then uninstalled it because of slow system performance.Hardware requirement for running Vista is more and there is lot hardware and software compatibility problems with Vista. You can try widows 2007 and you can get it freely from Microsoft site.Yesterday,i installed 2007 in my pc and it is working very fast with out any problem.

I will have to replace my laptop in the future and am keeping my eye on Vista reviews. The main complain seems to be that the RAM value needs to be high and Vista works great. They frequently sell computers short on RAM I guess because it has been so expensive. I think if I bought a Vista computer I would max out the RAM.
I had similar problems with XP because I only had 250 k on my laptop. Eventually I increased it to 750 k and it really helped. I understand you need 1 meg mimimum to run Vista so I would not be happy until I had at least 2 meg and preferably 4.

I had Vista , XP and 98 XD the best of them all is vista. It's faster, simpler and smarter. I never had problems with vista although I know that macs are far more better then vista XD but I can't afford a mac at the moment cause it's too much expensive. I built my PC for a good performance to make great graphics , video and photo editing and of course gaming :P I have a 2.4GHz Core 2 Quad and a 4Gb RAM with a 1GB video card 9600GT, never had any problems with it , programms crash really rarely just like other windows but the rest is great. The search is easier in vista you can enlarge the icons to see exactly what's in the document, you can see the windows minimized in the taskbar by simply keeping your mouse on it. I would never go back to XP or 98

I too have heard that vista is very bad.It needs a high configuration to run.Applications that worked in xp wouldn't work on vista. It has got a good user display. You can switch to windows xp or windows seven.I think windows seven is the best.It loads applications very fast.It also starts and turns off the computer quickly.
