Ever since I became a video game fanatic, I've tried to make it a practice to read the entire manual before playing a video game. Sometimes the manuals are like novels (40+ pages) and others are toilet paper thin. (10 pages) So whenever I get a video game that includes a manual, I try to read the manual before playing. Is it the same for you?

Yes, just to get a feel of what game I'm dealing with and sometimes I do need help with certain things from time to time, but don't need Gamefaqs.

Hi Marcola
I read the instructions for anything first(I'm a little sad I know). I usually read the manual on the way home from buying it!!

Yes. I'll always read over the manual first, which in many cases is kind of useless because games tend to have "training" levels at the beginning all the time now.

I don't, at least not at first. I learn what I can by just getting in game and pushing buttons to see what they do. Now if there's no in-game help that covers a thing I'm having problems with then I page through the manual to see if I can get some help.

In all honesty it depends on the what type of game it is, if its a fighting game I flip through the manual to find out what the controls will be like and what characters are in it(at the beginning at least.) but if its an RPG or a platformer I just jump right in and learn as I go.
