I have a nice sand collection. I like to collect sand from every beach I go to. I keep the sand in bottles and display on my shelf. I do label them so I know which is which. Do you ever collect sand from different beaches? Do you think you might start?

I see you like to go to the beach!..Me too!...I did have a small collection of sand at one time but now have shells and rocks all labelled from different beaches...The sand in the bottles though is much easier to manage and display. I think its a great idea...HOw many different beaches have you been too? I saw you were in St Maartin...I am soooooooooo jealous!..;) I have always wanted to go there. Have a wonderful valentines weekend!

I love beaches and St maarten was my favorite. I of course have sand from there. The sand is neat because each beach I go to the sand is a little bit different. All different shades and textures.

I just was wandering, is St Maartens the real white sand that you see in travel promos?...I would like to visit all the islands there. HOpe you get to many more beaches and add to your collection. Have you been to the Maldives? I hear it is spectacular.

Yes the sand is really white and soft. The sand also has little red flecks in it from broken shell or coral.

hello moneymommy
that is awesome that you have a sand collection from the different beaches that you have been to before in your lifetime. i have never thought about collecting sand like that. lol and i doubt if i will ever collect any sand like that, my family and myself usually go to a splash park or something like that during the summer, and it has been several years since that we have been to the beach. so how many different sand bottles do you have in your collection? and where were some of the beaches that you have visited? thanks for sharing. but when i do get to go to the beach, wherever that should be, i do always walk the beaches and i bring home lots of seashells. the boys got ahold of them and who knows where that they all went to. outside, lost. lol but i do at least have one seashell that i put on my nick-nack shelf that i still do have. lol
take care and have a beautiful evening.

I have been to many beaches so I think I may have about 20 bottles of sand. Here are some of the beaches I have been to. Jamaica,St Martin,St Barts,Dominican Republic,Cancun,Isle of Moharies? not sure of the spelling on that one lol. The beach sands from the islands are different for each one.

I bring home shells too. But I like the sand even more because I can display them so nicely.

I never thought of doing that. What a cool idea. I have only been to maybe 3 or 4 different beaches but I'm sure that I'll go to more in the future.

Living by the beach I have a great collection of sand on my floors , lol
Between sand and dog hair I'm always sweeping! Other then what's on the floors
I don't collect sand. I do collect odd things I find while walking the beach.
Sea glass, shells , stones, pieces of beach tiles so on, and so on...
I'm going to try to make my first piece of sea glass jewerly soon. The stuff is
beautiful !
