I haven't tried smoking not even a single puff of cigarette. But I am a victim of second hand smoking.

I am proud to say that I am no longer a smoker. I quit cold turkey 6 years ago and never even slipped up. That was after smoking for 30 years. The sad reality is that I quit after having a major heart attack which they blamed on smoking as my cholesterol was great. It was a hard lesson to learn so those of you who have not started, please dont. My hubby still smokes but does not smoke in the house. Hes very courteous about it and I sure appreciate it. When we smoke, we dont realize how bad everything in our house smells. After quitting, I ended up throwing out stuff that I could not get the smell out of no matter what I did. I am not against those who do smoke, but I think they should have respect and take it outside if there are others living with them that dont.

Thank you, but unfortunately I learned the hard way as we so often do. The good thing is that I have never even wanted to go back or have any cravings at all. I think I can say I am well on my way. I found once I quit, there was almost immediately no more coughing...cant remember the last time I coughed and colds have been cut way down too.

I am a smoker. I have been a victim of second-hand smoking for as far back as I can remember. I smoked my first one when I was twelve (and got caught). I did not become a full-fledged smoker until I was 17 (I was starting on-off when I was 15). So, I have now been smoking, consistently, for 14 years. I have quit on a few occasions (pregnancy and just because), but I ultimately always return to this sorry habit, haha.
