Dont worry about it r4eally! My eldest had hers for bed until she was 4 years old then she woke just after turning 4 one morning and said to me "dummies are for babies lets throw it in the bin" i allowed her to and she never asked for it since it was easy for us both because she did it when she was ready to do so, children need comfort sometimes il not take it from them until they are ready to give it up and if she only has it at bedtime i really dont think it harms them to have it for a little longer than what society deems acceptable!

If she only has it when she goes to bed at night, I don't see the problem with letting her keep it. 3 is still pretty young and she probably feels secure with it. Most children give their security objects up on their own, so give her some time.

Kids will want their doll whether torn or tattered... even after growing old.... if they have been used to having their doll sleep with them from a very young age.. then it is difficult to make them sleep without them.... wherever they go.... at night they need the doll with them..if you give them new dolls.. they would still stick to the old one..... my niece was like that.. the doll was almost tearing apart in one foot... and she still wanted that one... so we had to stitch it up for her.. even though we bought her a new one... maybe.. let her have the dummy for now... she will grow out of it when she is older....
