why do other peoples chips taste better than yours?

have you ever been out somewhere and your friend will have a bag of chips and you nick one while they aren't looking. you think they taste like the best chips ever so you go and buy some yourself. once you've done this you start to eat them and they never taste as nice as the one you just stole from your friend, strange eh? do you know why this is or have any stories like this?

I think this happens all the time. I worked with a lady at a gas station. One time I bought a bag of chips (Old Dutch Creamy Dill) and I offered her to try it. She loved it. She normally doesn't like Dill Pickle chips, but those ones were more soft.
I don't think it's a question of why. Usually anything you try to eat or drink tends to be influenced by other people.
