my nosy cousin in law......

what would you do if you have this nosy cousin in law. i.e., she's the wife of my husband's cousin...
Her mother in law is regarded as my husbands foster mom, so her husband and my husband treats each other as brothers.... the first weeks that we lived here, she was nice, very nice that I didn't know she has her hidden agenda, she does not want anyone to get near her mother in law, (My husband's aunt/foster mom), she's being all nice and good to get me off guard and then she'll attack.
And she did! She seems all nice to the neighbors around us whom she knew longer than I do, since I don't go out of the house much. Telling lies about me, things that are far from reality, and I'm not able to defend myself.....
I you're in my situation, what will you do?

I try to stay away from people that I don't get along with nicely. Sometimes it cannot be helped because they are relatives. I just do the best I can without antagonizing anyone. Cheers!!

I would take care of the situation by avoiding her at all costs.

i think the best way to deal with that is to avoid her as much as possible. its hard to be around people of that kind. they always cause trouble, they will always bring you down. you dont have to stoop down to her level. these kind of people are often insecure and jealous....
yet, i must say that find a way to let her know that you know what she's doing thru a civil manner. let her know too that she cant mess with you so she better stop telling lies.
