Almost everyone sings - maybe in the shower, maybe while driving down the freeway, but we all do it. The only problem (well, besides the fact that we might be off-key) is that we don't always know the words. Many people make up their own lyrics, or hum a bit when they just don't know the lyrics. When I was younger, my friend's sister used to sing "Shot through the heart and you're too lame" along with Bon Jovi who said "You're too blame." And I am sure that I continue to massacre several songs.
What messed up lyrics do you commit, or have you heard?

I know I'm guilty But I don't sweat it. Unless you're actually "performing" (being paid, church etc) then I think the only thing that's really important is that you're connecting with and enjoying the music.

Singing with a funny alternative lyrics if you don't know the lyrics is a fun thing to do. Me and my friends make fun with it such a good bonding time. Sometimes we also hum if we really don't know what to say. We do this whenever we just hanging around our houses. I already forgot the song but we actually replace all the lyrics with funny ones.

I'm sure I mess up lots of lyrics, LOL. I just can't pinpoint them right now - it's too close to bedtime and my brain is a little fried.
Did you base this discussion off the article in Yahoo? I read that earlier, and just thought it was neat to see it come up again on here.

That is one of my biggest pet peeves - I hate people singing the lyrics wrong! Even worse is when I do it myself! I try to look up lyrics and get them right, but I have a couple songs I've been singing that way since I was a kid and I can't seem to remember to change them and get aggravated with myself!! lol I don't get onto others or anything, just take a deep breath and move on. I don't like to sound pompous and I don't think there's any way to say, "You're singing that wrong. It's this..." without sounding like a jerk. lol
