my step sister and her wedding....ugh!

Ok, so when we were little we used to always talk about getting married and I would be her maid of honor and she would be mine. blah blah blah Well, she is getting married and she told me she wasnt having a bridal party, ie, maid of honor, bridesmaids etc. Well, I find out yesterday she has a maid of honor because my dad tells me she isnt throwing my sis a bridal shower. and he wants to know if i can go 4 hours away to help with it!!1 Um.....no! I am not hurt that I am not her MOH, bcuz I hate being those anyway, lol. Its more that she lied to me.....she couldve just said she wanted her friend to do it!

Well I think it is a bit silly for her to have lied in the first place as you would find out eventually anyway, I think she has just made herself look like a liar, silly girl, she should have just sat down and had a talk with you, people do change in ideas over the years anyway, i think she has been a silly girl...give her a cheaper present

lol....yea I mean it isnt like I wasnt going to find out at the wedding!! I feel so upset that she lied... If my son wasnt the ring bearer and I thought that without him her wedding wouldnt go perfectly for her I just wouldnt go...but I feel like I should be there regardless

wow, i would be hurt by that too. she shouldn't have lied at all then no one should expect u to help with the bridal shower....i totally feel u on this one!

Lies hurt and when it's something like a wedding that is a family oriented event where everyone wants to celebrate and help out it hurts even more. She will figure it out eventually and as you fade away from her (which you probably will) she will be the one missing out. You haven't doen anything wrong. Just continue to support her until she turns into a couple snot and hopefully she won't because she'll come to her senses and apologize. Good luck.

Hi stacyv81! Just like you, I will feel disappointed if I am in your shoes not because I have not been chosen as the MOH but I was lied upon. I would appreciate it more if she trust me enough to tell me the truth and that I will understand her. Anyway, best wishes to her! Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith
