By reading these please don’t blame me! I’m just giving the results of survey made in United States! That’s all! Swiss computer engineering and network laboratory , IBM and Google has joined hands to do this survey. The results made many people to shock but at last they said they have to agree with this! While browsing on the internet we are subjected to various threats from many ways. Viruses and malwares search for a weak portion in our browser and then gets into our browsers. So, the companies always make a patch file to stop this threat and make it available for free download in their own site. By downloading this we can save us from new kind of viruses . If we don’t update, then we are in danger! Based on this , they made a survey and the result is as follows: 1.Most of the people feel that firefox is the safest browser! 2.83% of firefox users, update their browser with patch file. For safari its 65.3% , for opera its 56.1% and finally for internet explorer it just 47.6%! Browser patching is one of the most essential thing in today’s internet! Microsoft will release its updates only once in a month( on first Tuesday of the month) and many people feel that one month is really a long time and Microsoft must release updates frequently!

ohhhh... i see. I'm relieved because I use firefox in browsing. I'm using it already for quite a while now because I'm having a lot of problems in Internet Explorer. It's just makes my day bad when it freezes when I'm viewing videos on you tube when the buffering is almost down and complete. And yeah I agree Firefox does patch almost always because they always alert you with their patches unlike Internet explorer. They should really improve it in my opinion. No one i know is using it today i guess... all of them moved to firefox.

use my friend this is a very good thing about the browser Firefox. it is very stable and end very secured also. It is a free version 2 people are never afraid of any missing objects. Moreover the updates are very frequent which gives the security to the user. It is versatile and can be modified to personal use which is one of the biggest advantage with this browser. Due to his qualities I think this browser got such huge reputation in the market so quickly. Even I have quite a few websites and I have recently seen the trend that most of the visitors on my website using Firefox as their default browser which is something extraordinary when you compare to Internet Explorer which is by default software with every Windows operating system. All in all I guess this is why people preferred this browser. Internet Explorer on the other hand is not all secure. There is no virus in Mallow protections when this browser and so if there is any problem in your system crashes and get infected very quickly.

The results of a survey can be biased. If we are to make a conclusion based on the responses and comments in previous discussions, we can say that the majority of Internet users have never heard of browsers like Opera. Maturally they will make comparisons between IE and Firefox, and come to the conclusion that Firefox is the best browser. Opera for example has been around much longer than Firefox, so it is not surprising there is a higher incidence of hacker attack. But based on the statistics by Secunia, Opera patched security holes faster than Firefox. The major companies are paying more attention to Firefox because currently it is widely used compared to the other browsers. As someone who has used a number of browsers I say that the survey is flawed. all the best, rosdimy

The reason for the increasing use of Fire fox is its number of add-ons and the additional features its having when compared to the Internet Explore.Though now the IE is releasing some add-ons, mainly they are meant for entertainment, and not to increase the browsing easiness, except few add-ons. But Fire fox is having hundreds of add-ons and also they are releasing updates at least once in a week. That 47.6% of IE usage is due to its earlier arrival only and not for its features. That survey result may be considerd for whole users rather than US users.

One way to help with Firefox is noscript. Check it out. With the mod, you have the choice to enable any script before it browses.

I keep all my browsers updated for security so that is not a problem for me. I use Firefox as I can have many tabs open at the same time with out a slow down of my system, IE with the same number of tabs open I get a system slow down. so in that respect IE is a memory hog, where Firefox is not as bad.

Firefox probably does not get as enough targeted attacks than Internet Explorer (which has been used by many for much longer). Hence in part, Firefox would be perceived to be safer, and probably it is...

well, the poll result seems to be fake. i have used many web browsers including fireefox and firefox appears to be slower than all. it is slower in loading graphics especially.
