It's been nearly 6-7 years since I have been using my Dell Optiplex Gx260, I think it is a great computer for home use.Within these years I have had only 1 problem which was the power supply unit. So I had to change it. But otherwise there wasn't any much of a problem.I think Dell computers are great for business and home use.My home computer when purchased had only 256MB of ram and still have 64MB on-board graphics. So I changed the RAM to 1.25GB and it functions very fast now.Anyhow, this is my story.
I'd like to know the opinion of mylotters on Dell or any other good computer brand, because maybe I might be buying a new computer pretty soon. And what do you think might be the best pc for gaming, an affordable one that is too?

You may not know that Lenovo has been making IBM's computers for many years now under the IBM name. In other words, probably the only difference between the IBM-named computers that you enjoyed so much, and the Lenovo-named computers that you claim you don't like so much, is that now you're buying a computer under the manufacturer's name rather than the supplier's.
BTW, I'm also a Lenovo (or IBM, if you prefer) fan, and hope to purchase a "last year's model" Lenovo in the near future.

I've done well with Dell. Their computers aren't so good with gaming. If you want a good gaming PC, build your own, or go with Alienware(building is the cheapest). Dell's are nice and cheap and work well for non-gaming purposes though.

I agree, the standard Dell systems are not very good for high end gaming. Not sure about their range of gaming PCs but Alienware are cheaper and better at this level.
For general home and small office use though you can't beat Dell. I just wish they wouldn't pre-install so much rubbish on the PC before they send it.

i think they are ok!!so may be it is good also ebcause you cna configure your system for yur needs directly online so you cna choose what you want and you need too!may eb from this point of view having not the possibility to touch and see yur pc before buy it cnabbe a limit if you consider siza dn even weight a must when you buy a pc..

I guess it must just be my bad luck but I've never had much luck with Dells at all. I had a Dell laptop which only lasted for 8 months before things began to go wrong with it, and my brother had a dell desktop which lasted a year and a half before it became unbearably slow.
I have heard so many good things about these computers, so I guess I must just have been unlucky, but I have been put off them now and will never be buying one again!
I have a Sony Laptop at the moment, and that is amazing and fast and wonderful, and I am more than happy with it.
