alot of times when I go to shut my computer down, it takes forever. I get little popups that says could not close blah blah blah....or cant end program blah blah blah.
Someone told me its cuz they are open and running in the background. How do I go about finding out whats running in the background?
These are programs that I know that I am not using at all.
Does this make ur computer run slower also?

We really need to know what .EXE or other file is that is not closing. An example is If you use Microsoft Outlook, that uses Microsoft Word for an editor. When you close Outlook, word satys open so when shut down it forces this program closes. You can see the processes that are running as above poster mentioned, but you need to see what it is, then you can kill it. I have seen this with Adobe as well.
Good Luck.

I think if you hit alt+ ctrl+ Del in the same time windows task manager will open if you chose the tab with the name process, you'll have all the program on your computer including system programs but you have to be careful what you turnoff though cause you can shut down your whole system and will have to reboot.
that's what I found out from my experience I could be wrong though.
