If your pet suddenly talked and asked for a beer, what would you say or do?

I guess I watch the cartoons "Family Guy" and Martha Speaks" waay too much for my own good. They both carry something similar, which is a talking dog.
My daughter watches Martha Speaks nearly every morning but Family Guy is out of the question for her eyes to see and ears to hear, it's just too darn freaky and x-rated, and not to mention, horrible street talk.
Can you imagine if your pet or an animal that isn't your pet suddenly looked at you and spoke real words?
Like if there's something you do on a regular basis, like smoking cigarettes, drinking bear, eating peanut butter, or whatever, and you do these things in the presence of your pet, your pet might want to get in on the action.
OK what if one day your pet just wakes up and decides he/she wants to try some of whatever it is you're getting busy with, so he/she gets bold enough to say,
"Hey! why do you keep drinking that stuff in front of me and never even bothered to offer me some? How selfish of you!"
Would you faint, run, stare at it, talk back, take it to Hollywood to get paid immediately, or other?
And If this could happen, what would your pet say to you?

We have Chihuahua's and a cat. If any of them talked and asked us for something I think we'd just flat out say no. They look at us enough as it is when it comes to eating. Although our cat, I will admit, doesn't really look at us that much when we eat.
I wouldn't take our pets to hollywood, they might want them to say things that we don't agree with... lol. Although I guess if a dog or cat could talk they'd have freedom of speech.

Hey miracle! My cats talk to me all the time! Doesn't everyones?
My cat Luna has long conversations with me! He has alot to say!
Most of the time he is complaining about something that I'm
not doing that is annoying him! He knows that when I'm eating
ice cream that he wants come! He knows that if I'm typing on
the computer that he needs to sit in my lap and talk and "help"
me type and tell me what he wants me to say! And my cat Star
talks too, but not as much! Luna does say mama really clear and
freaks anyone out that hears him say it! But, if he asked me
if he could smoke one of my Black & Milds or anything else
that I do that he shouldn't we would have to have a "real"
talk then!

"Oh, so you're suddenly talking! You couldn't talk where I asked you if my girlfriend was cheating on me, heh!". Lol, that was a joke. I would probably ask him the secrets of the univers. I mean "You're a dog that can talk, you must know the secrets of the univers". That was another joke. I would probably freak out and faint.

i guess my pets will say something else if they can talk. they'd be asking for seconds of whatever that suits their fancy. i offer almost everything i have to them because of the way they look at me. why i do so is because i've got cats as pets. cats are well known for their finicky taste so they'll only take 5% of what i've ever offered to them.
most likely thing they'd be asking for if they can talk will either be durian or catnip. and i'd be really happy if my cats can talk to me. we can have conversation for hours and i can finally know what on earth they are staring at.

I had my cat[ cherry] she passed away a few years back, she had this very big personality no one could trick her into eating anything she did not agree with, like generic food? that was a no no for her, and if the water bowl had anything in it, she would turn around and look at you like saying[ would you drink this?]and she would walk away.

cool. i would have someone to talk to when i am alone. and they can be my receptionist when i am out of the house. and i can travel and they can take care of the house. it would be like someone is home looking after things.
but all my pets, current and late, tend to have an attitude and give me attitude. they would probably argue a lot with me and get sarcastic, and give me a headache. my current cat thinks he is king of the jungle, of my townhouse. i can hear him in the morning yelling at me to wake up and feed him, and get demanding.
but it would be nice on car rides, carpooling and chatting and listening to music together. or watching tv together. or lying in bed together all night and chatting until falling asleep.
since i am a vegetarian, i dont think my cat would like my food. he probably would look at me and gag. animals like their meat.

I wouldn't believe it at first. Shock is what I would feel. I would look around and make sure no audio or camera around etc. If it was real and the dog was a decent, friendly dog I wouldn't say a word and just enjoy another talker in the house. But if he was a jerk, may just have to let him run the talk show circuit for money!! :-)

I don't know what my cat would say to me but I'd probably talk back to him. I talk to him now like he's human so it wouldn't be anything new to me.

I would say no. I'd tell him "You're just 4 years old and you're still underage" and "Look at your body, you're so macho. You don't don't want to mess with it right?". Then i'm going to treat him like a baby no matter what he talks about. lol! I will make him realize that i'm still the boss and i will emphasize my authority on him. lol! I would spank him if he's too much. He knows i'm different when i get mad.

If my pets suddenly talk, hum. I think my first reaction would be pure shock. My oldest would tell me what to do, she's always giving me that bossy look. My middle one would probably tell me it's ok to let her loose outside that she would come back, that she promise's. My youngest would say give me treats and put me on the bed. My daughter's hamster would probably say let me go, I have a better chance of finding food outside. They would have more to say than give me what I have been eating. In away, thank goodness that they don't talk.

I think I would say something like " Come Again?" Just to see if the dog or animal would speak again. Then I would have to look into my meds and make sure none of them cause hallucinations and after that I would definitely be taking the pet to hollywood !!!
Now my cat would probably say something like " don't even think of petting me without washing your hands. You have to understand Kitty(my cat) is a clean freak.. .LOL!! My dog would probably complain about everything and anything nonstop because he's a big husky baby.. He's a flipping husky and hates the winter. Shakes head...

My husband frequently states the wish that our cat could talk. It frequently looks as if he is actually trying to do so. I expect that if he could talk, he'd ask, "Just what do I have to do to get you to fill my food dish?"
