The time to let a pet go in peace

The first week of January found us having to put my old lady pit bull down. It was her time. The night before she left me I made her a pork roast dinner complete with peas, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy. She ate in the dinning room next to me and got a big bowl of ice cream after. The morning of her passing we walked for 2 hours just her and I and I cried the whole time. My husband and I took her to the vet where she was given a full bag of liver treats and much love by all the staff. She was as good as gold and didn't bite a single person (very much unlike her). Last week I picked up her urn and she sits high and proud in my china cabinet until I can make a proper display for her. For the sake of discussion. Do you wish to share a special time with a loved pet?

Aww, what a beautiful Pit. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad you made her last day a positive one for both you and her to have a nice last memory together. It's so hard when it's their time to go. :( On my girl's last day, we took her for a long walk with lots of treats and love and my vet actually came to the house so as not to upset her by taking her into the vet's office (which she hated).

Thank you. She had a good long life of 17 years. For the 13 years I had her she was very much loved. I am sorry about your lady passing. having her done at home was nice for her I am sure, less stress.
