Yes, let your daughters get it. You can get information from www.gardasil.com I highly recommend it. I am a cervical cancer survivor and I wish we had this vaccine was I was young.

If you are sexually active with the same person then i see no reason why you should have to get vaccinated but i am sure getting vaccinated won't hurt anything if it makes you feel safer.

my OB advised me to get it, so I had my shot 3 years ago before I got pregnant...but if you're planning to have the baby i think you have to postponed it if you had taken the vaccine...its actually for your own good and if you have history of cancer in your family, you should get it...

This is certainly a breakthrough... i wonder if this is already available here in the Philippines... i am 33 years old... so i don't think i qualify... but my daughter is 2... so in the future... i would like her to take the shots... and hopefully by that time they will be available in any hospital at a very reasonable price...

I would say yes, definitly get the girls vaccinated. It better to do it now then to wait and find out they have it. I am not sure if this is true or not but I heard that you can pick up HPV from like a public restroom or anything that contacts that area. I am not sure but if thats true I would get everyone vaccinated just to be on the safe side.

wow.. on public restroom. i think we really need to do a lot of research and a lot of asking and looking around so we can be aware and we can have more knowledge. thank you very much for the input and i will try to research more. thank for the response as well. havea nice day

bathroo, contact is public hysteria. Your don't rub your ... stuff on the seat. Rather if anything touches the seat at all it is your legs and your butt cheeks. Besides, if you really beieve that public toilets will give you diseases, hover or stradle, or better still, hold it till you get home.

I would say yes let your daugthers have the vaccine. HPV is the most common STI and most people don't even know they have it. It can cause cancer in women in later life. So let them have the vaccine, it is good that there has been this breakthrough in medical science.

For me that's a big breakthrough for women and especially to my wife.Because my wife's side has a history of canser. That's why she also want to have that vaccine. And theirs more vaccines now available for cancer I saw it last week on t.v during commercial break.I think you need to let them the vaccine.'Coz it will cost you a lot,if(knock on wood)later on you find out one of them has canser. In other words too late the hero.We also save money for that vaccine.

We opted not to have our girls take the shot. How many times have they offered something and then 20 years later said, "ooops, er the cure was actually worse than the disease. Sorry about that, we didn't test it much before we sent it out for general distribution. Sorry that you all have cancer. Want us to give you a shot for that?" Seriously, there is footage of them spraying the crowds at parades with PCP or some such kind of pesticide, which are not known carcenogens and illegal for use in Canada, but at the time it was new, everyone was all gung-ho about it. I think for our family it is better to wait. When the girls become ready to be sexaully active, they can ask the doctor about it when they are asking about birth control. And yes, we have them immunized against polio, etc. That's just my view of things though.

Studies say that you can still have it even at your age.Ask your doctors.I am not that good in discussing things because I am not the resource speaker of this but I have attended lectures of Dr. Thaddeus Luna of PGH.You can ask them
