My friend said he loves me ! What should i do?

I had best friend who always with me. I've make a friend with him 5 years ago. We are students in same school and spent lot of time together. I shared anything to him and he did too. I think we are always together until we get married with our special one someday then we'll become neighbor, make our kids be a friend like me with him and have great friendship forever. But at valentine day yesterday, he said he loves me. I don't know what i should do. I like him verymuch, he is kind guy, care and helpfull. But i dont wanna make our relationship as love. Im afraid our friendship will broken if we've got trouble someday. What i should do ? If i tell him if i dont wanna be his love, im afraid he'll hate me. Help me to explain to him what i feel. What i should tell to him?

You should be straightforward at this point of time. You should take the decision with your head, not your heart. Just tell him what you feel. If he is really a good friend of yours, I am sure he will understand and appreciate your feelings and you people are mature enough to talk out any possible awkwardness that might set into your relationship after this episode.

the best way is to be honest with him...that all you can offer is just friendship and that's all...tell him that you dont want to loose him and you still want him to be part of your life but not the way he wanted...on the other hand...maybe you could at least try, you'll never know maybe in time you'll get to feel the romantic love towards him...
