How many of you have heard of Bollywood? What do you think about it?

I understand that most of the members here at mylot are either from Europe or America. In the past few years, stars from the Indian Film Industry, popularly known as Bollywood, have been recognized worldwide and they have also acted in some Hollywood productions. The recent movie "Slumdog Millionaire" got so many oscar nominations and it featured Indian cast.
How many of you have heard about or follow Bollywood movies? What do you think about them?

I am not from Europe or America, I am from Egypt. but i know Bollywood, although in Egypt few people know the word Bollywood but Indian movies (as they are called here in Egypt) were HUGE in the 80s and Early 90s. In fact Amitabh Bachan is a big celebrity here.
