What is your bowling style?

I was talking to my boyfriend tonight about bowling. Everyone has their own approach to the lane and a method to release the ball. Some people do what he calls the Flintstone bowling. That's sorta where you run or tiptoe really quickly on your toes to the lane before you release the ball. Then there is Granny bowling according to him. We always called this Toddler bowling where I'm from. This is where you walk to the lane and with the ball between your legs and both hands you ROLL it on down. I rhythmically walk down the lane to the lyrics of a song. Specifically like this. Aim .. Then while still in aiming positioning take a step to each of these words: "Now as I lay me down to sleep" On to I drop the ball and begin my swing. On sleep I release! How do you bowl??

I walk to where I want to stand to release the ball, move my ball arm back, and throw it as hard as I can down the aisle. My husband and I usually go bowling as a release. LOL When I'm p*$$ed off with someone, and don't want to resort to violence, I like to go throw some balls, or hit some golf balls on the driving range. LOL Great stress release to do that.

Never thought of bowling as a release but I can totally see it. Around here we go to bowling as a hang out, a get to know you sort of deal. We find its a great way to keep people at a comfortable area while they get to know large groups of people.

I believe that I use the 4 step approach to the foul line and throw it. I usually aim for the third arrow. I don't throw a straight ball either. When in my hand it is not at angled at 12 o'clock, but 11 o'clock. I also give my ball a little twist before I release it. I used to throw a back up ball, which I can still do when it helps me. I taught myself how to throw a normal ball.

I bowl consistently as possible each time, as 'perfect' repetition is the only way to get the ball to hit the sweet spot (between the first and 2nd pin) and hopefully get a strike. I throw curve balls. My best score is 247.
