Anyone know which causes more pollution?

Would a country pollute more if its "used automobile market" is greater than its "new automobile market", vice-versa? I have two opinions: 1) If the country has the "used market" bigger, it will pollute more because old cars don't have the technologies (as modern and new cars) that decrease the emission of pollutants. 2) Old cars means there are less new cars being produced for that country, so less resources (that cause pollution) are being used. What do you guys think? Was I clear?

More importantly than the age of the cars would be are the cars being properly maintained. A poorly maintained car uses more fuel and pollutes more.

I agree with you...so you think which would pollute more, used or new automobile market?

I think it's not only automobiles that contributed high pollution. There are some factors that make the pollution worsen everyday. Waste from factories and other hazardous chemicals are common contributor too.

The things that causes more pollution is the gas comes from the transportation..it's too polluted, also the gas that comes from factory, industries and the burning of plastics, it even destroy our ozone layer...i really hate pollution..i really hate smokers.
