how does it help my earnings, and does it make a Big difference in doing so? I have not noticed if it does or not, so would appreciate some comments on this.

I would also like to know the answer to this i hope someone out there has an answer. Also i read on a post where some said thank you and followed it with i know thank you is against mylot guidelines is this true can anyone help with this. I can understand mylot not wanting to respond with thank you all the time but if it is thank you for giving advice or an answer to something as well as other comments what is the problem.

I wish myLot would shed the light on this, if this is also how we can increase our earnings, but then some people would take advantage of this if they did, just to make sure they are earning more.

I'm anxious to find out if anyone knows about this, too. I religiously try to hit all the +s, but am I really doing people any good or am I just wasting my time? Why is it that mylot never tells us anything but expects us to figure it all out on our own?

I imagine that the rating system figures in some way into the earnings "formula" that the myLot mathematicians have come up with, rewarding members that have higher "+" responses. Perhaps hitting the "+"s indiscriminately defeats the intended purpose. I do make a point of hitting the "+" for responses that add value to discussions. There are numerous responses that certainly do not deserve to get a positive rating.

I wish I knew too, and wonder if it helps with our Earnings. I would give out more if I knew for sure it helped increase our Earnings like Best response does.

I noticed after I began rating all the discussions I read that it "seems" like my earnings increased, but I am not sure. I make it a habit now of rating everything I read, well, most of the time anyway. Sometimes it slips my mind, but it is beginning to be a habit.

There seems to be a glitch in the rating button tonight. I rate the posts and then if I return to a page I have rated, the rating has disappeared as if I hadn't rated it.

I hear you on this one. I try to remember to Rate a lot of the discussions that I post from, but sometimes it slips my mind as well. And not sure it always stays there as well.

I am not sure exactly how they help, but many have stated here that it does help with our rating. I do try to hit the +'s when I feel it is truly deserved. Sorry I couldn't tell you anymore on this.

I have no idea, can´t even figure out my own earnings, there´s no explication regarding this at the FAQ section. I always rate the answers I get, but I don´t know if the person who makes a + answer is going to earn more.

The last paragraph in the response from crofter9 sums is up accurately. We should only rate responses or discussions that warrant such action, i.e. to give everyone who responds a positive (+) rating is not appropriate as it detracts from the value of the rating system. :)

I still have never really figured this out. I just know when I see a Good discussion worth Rating, I rate it, and go from there.

Personally, I think it might help keep our Rating higher I would think, but not sure if it helps with earnings. If it does then more people should do it.

Well I have just read the myLot Guidelines again and this is what is says about the rating system, or at least part of it. The DRS (Discussion Rating System) is factored into our proprietary earings algorithm, so this will help us properly reward valuable contributions to the myLot community. So I think this means that a positive or negative rating will impact on our earnings, although they will of course check that the rating is warranted.

I am not sure what all the rating is on here, I would like to know about this also and I would also really like to know what it does...I have not been on for awhile I got super busy with my home business and am glad to be back...I would think that it would give you some type of points in the ratings..

I believe it does affect payment but not too sure how. I do not rate everything positive but only those that I think warrant it. For example something that is one word in response, does not warrant anything in my opinion. If a response is a quality one, is related to the topic of discussion and is well thought through then I will give a positive rating. I do not necessarily have to agree with the response to give a positive if it fits the criteria I have mentioned. I think to give everyone who responds a positive rating detracts from the purpose of a rating system.

After reading through this discussion,we still don't have an answer. I wish that MyLot would clarify this. I rate discussions as I read them, starting with the initial discussion "blurb" and then I rate the responses as I read them. I hate to see that some users rate their friends automatically with a +, because this takes away from the meaning of the system. I have to believe that rating has some affect on earnings, but who knows how they figure this out? I just try to be diligent about reading the discussion through and rating fairly. Of course I give negatives to irrelevant, stupid, or 1-2 word responses.
