We visited many places in our life. But sometimes we went for a pleasant trip when we were in college or school etc. As a girl child I didn’t get much chances for visiting places especially when I was in school as elders in my family (as I brought up in a joint family) thought that girls are not allowed to go out with friends and my brother only got the chances to visit many places. Things get changed when I was in college as we moved to a separate house and got a chance to visit some places with college mates. We enjoyed the trip much but while returning to college our bus met with an accident but fortunately nothing seriously happened and finally the pleasant trip became a tragedy. Then I visited many places after marriage with my family. We had many trips and enjoyed much with kids too.
So now it is your turn to narrate some of the trips you enjoyed most, when you are/were in college/school/after marriage. Please feel free to share your experiences. Thanks to all of you, in advance.

Hello Sree...Well like you I too did go for any picnics or excursions while in school. It was only when I reached college, that my parents felt I was old enough to go away fom home with my friends and take care of myself, and return back safely in one piece.....Actually we used to go for excursions or picnics every year from college and also study tours. It was real fun to feak out with friends, and I guess my parents were relieved I was in a girls college and was always accompanied by nuns.....
After marriage I had no honeymoon trip but have been to many corners of india with my kids in tow.But we mostly go with one or two other families to accompany us and this has always made our holidays memorable, and uneventful too because we always plan and book everything in advance.....

Rose, you visited many places in India with your family and had a chance to visit places when you were in college. I think the subject you studied in college demanded the study tours. The trips with other family definitely will add the joy.
Many thanks for sharing and it is my pleasure to read about your trips. Enjoy life. Good luck..

Hi Sree......well actually the label "study trip" was only an excuse to get permission from parents and teachers to go out on tours with friends......We used to arrange the trip ourselves and invited our favourite teachers to accompany us for the trip.....And it was a good ecxuse for them to get away from college and family for a few days, and they were always ready to oblige............

Last January, me and my husband with the children went to subic freeport zone. We visited Ocean adventure, and the dolphins were all amazing. Its different when you just see them in pictures or television. You'll really appreciate these kinds of animals. They're all so smart and friendly. Not only that, we also got so see the sea lions there. They're so big, i never actually expected that they will be that big, because in the books, they look small. But they are so smart and cure specially when they smile. The are all so funny. You should go here in the Philippines and visit them at Ocean Adventure, you'll never regret it, i assure you.

I remember when I was in class IX, we all went for a pleasure trip to Chandipur in Orissa. That was the first time I was going anywhere without my parents. Of course the teachers were there but it was just so much fun and exciting to be with the friends for three days…staying in the dormitory, waking up with friends beside you, fighting over the bathroom, going out on the beaches…oh so much. It was a very memorable field trip for us.

Hi Sree
i am glad that i was First one to Respond u here
well public school hostel was nit free as u think, it was Public school, so in hostel it was Very Strict House master and head boys too, and wll u believe total strength of our school was 560 kids, and 80 were day scholar. And for 480 Students, houses of All teachers was at campus, other than housemaster, it was MOD (Master on Duty) who visit all day even supervise game time along with our PTI. there were almost 50 watchmen. dicipline was part and parcel of life.
I am sure now u can imagine.
Well i care about my friends and donrt care about rating as i belive my friends dont care about it.
But trust me words that """"i dont care about my friends""" hurt more than the fluctuation in rating
Anyway
Take care

I visited Venice in Italy a few years ago before I was married and I loved it! I was born in Italy and we were in our home town visiting family; it took a few hours to get to Venice by train but as soon as we arrived and stepped out of the train station there it was, the most magical place I had ever seen. If someone had sent me to Venice without telling me where I was headed, I would know immediately where I was as soon as I was dropped off.
Where else are there streets that are canals with glorious historic bridges and let's not forget the Gondolas! Beautiful place, I urge everyone to visit.

Among many trips I have done its difficult to choose which was the best. When I read this discussion, I felt like to say one the best, then the other one would try to oppose me. But I am going to say the most recent one...
Well about a month ago, we had a picnic to Godawari, a forest area picnic spot in Nepal. In the picnic, when we were given time to roam around. About 12 of us choosed to go above the hill near the picnic spot.
So we started easy, it was too steep, a bit thorny, full of plants and trees. As the boys, we had to help the girls too. I was amazed with a girl, who was on her heeled shoes on that trekking. Amazingly she managed the whole way round. Slowly we moved up and helping each other. Slowly and slowly the way became more and more tough. Finally we reached the road up, the first checkpoint. We were excited and every one decided to climb even up. So again we went on and we went on too high. Then reaching very high, we got the very nice views of the nature. We started shouting there one by one to listen the echoes being reflected from the hills. Its was so interesting.
Climbing up was not that hard. The main adventure started while climbing down. We didn't know the actual road down, so we choosed to go down through steep hill. WE didn't know the way was not good as we had climbed. It was more thorny, and the mud was too weak. When we put the steps on, it sloped down and we sloped down with it. So we had to be very very careful. Though we had tough time climbing down, when finally we reached down we felt like to do it even more. Some of my friends went down too fast. And some of us, including me were left back. There was a girl too, she shouted too much of fear, "How will I climb down here". at many places. Many tough challenges came on the way, but finally we got down.
Many of my friends go wound on their hands due to thorns, luckily I didn't get any as I was too much careful there. Any way it is the unforgettable moments in the life.

Hi Riya,
I can understand your enthusiasm when visiting the home village in vacations when you were a kid. I know you born and brought in Mumbai so it must be very joyful moments.
Two of my paternal uncles are settled in Mumbai. They used to visit home village with their family on vacations and I had watched their kid’s enthusiasm (I was also a kid at that time) and they are really happy to get time for playing in vast spaces etc. They could not communicate in our native language and we couldn’t talk Hindi and there was much problem for communication. When I read your comment I remembered them much. Now they are also married and settled in different parts of the world.
Many thanks for the participation. Have an excellent day.

I traveled around quite a bit when I was single, moving from place to place and sometimes driving hundreds of miles. The trip I remember most, though, was just after I was married and my then-husband decided we should go to San Diego, California for the weekend. Within an hour, he'd made reservations and we almost missed our plane! It was all spur of the moment. We spent the weekend in that beautiful place and had a lot of fun.
I'd forgotten about that trip, thank you for bringing back some very nice memories!

Hi Murugezh,
First of all thank you for appreciating me.
I am so glad to know that you visited my native place and liked very much. I am little bit sad because you wrote the names of the place wrongly (lol). I know you are not familiar with the names but I know the places very well so I can understand the mistakes (don't feel bad, just for your information).
Many thanks for sharing about your wonderful trip. Enjoy life.
