my PC was infected with W32.Sality.Y. Always hang and cannot open file from desktop.
How to removed it?

if your virus scan won't do it, start your computer in safe mood, f8 well it booting up. you want safe mood with net work. then try to go to trend micro house call let it run and should remove it. but it takes along to run.
also if you know where it is at on your computer also doing it in safe mood, find it and delete it.

then i would try to use trend micro house cal, start it up in safe mood, or you might have to reformat the whole thing and start over.

Hi exinco, try check your file size in MS DOS. If that size is 0kb and not folder and not system then you must delete it. If you do it in DOS may be you can access your file without hang. Write list of file with 0 size in this discussion, then i will look what must you delete.

First try and update your antivirus then completly scan your PC.
If it does not work then download a trial version of other antivirus softwares. Download famous antivirus software. After installing new one update it, then scan full PC.
If one antivirus does not work then uninstall it and install another one.
Always keep only one antivirus software installed. Installing 2-3 antivirus software does not help.
If it does not work then call a technician/professional.
