Are you superstitious?

February 16, 2009 11:58am CST
This previous Friday was Friday the 13th. Of course, it was the day before Valentine's Day, so many people believed that they would break up with their significant other, or something bad would happen. Superstition does not only revolve around Friday the 13th, but also black cats, ladders, and many more. Are you one who is completely superstitious, not at all, or do you fall somewhere in between?

I am not superstitious. I don't think there is any good to focus on superstitions and what could happen if we cross a black cat or break mirrors. If it happens it happens. I would be the kind of person that would get a black cat jsut for the heck of it.

The strange thing was that on Friday the 13th I had no problems, it was just another day. The following day, the 14th and Valentine's Day, all hell seemed to break loose. I woke up from the most traumatising nightmare I've had in years and things just seemed to go downhill from there. My partner and I were arguing and even after we'd made up and sorted some things out, we kept spilling things and knocking them over. It seemed like every little thing that could happen did!

I stayed at home all day on Friday 13th February. I was scared of something really awful happening. I was horrified when I looked at the calendar for 2009 and saw there are more Friday 13th dates this year. These are Friday 13th March and Friday 13th November. For me a black cat sighting is lucky. I hate walking under a ladder if I walk along the street past a window cleaner. I am fairly superstitious.

No, I'm really not superstitious. For some reason, I just don't believe in superstition.

I don't believe in superstitions anymore. I used to believe in them until a few years ago. Although, I used to believe that a holiday (Valentine's Day, a birthday, etc.) meant good luck, so Friday the 13th would clash with the good luck and it would cancel each other out. :O Though if I think about it, I rarely see black cats / open ladders anywhere.

I use to be, but then realized its all in your head. If you believe you have bad luck then bad luck will seem to accompany you. I don't believe in any of it anymore. They were saying on the radio that if you bought a gift for your valentine on friday the 13th then the relationship would end. Still dont believe it.
