TESTER'S choice; Are you in favor or NOT....?

This issue is not only on my country alone but this is worldwide. This is all about beauty pageants,and some other contests worldwide that has board of judges. Not long ago only the board of judges has an authority to select the best of all the contestants. Let us take for example the case of beauty pageants. Before, the one who has an advantage of the contest is the one who is beautiful and intelligent.
Nowadays, we already adopted the system of texter's choice. That's the new trend now.
It means, if I would be one of the contestants,( a beautiful and intelligent one )my chances of winning would be lesser and would fade away since my destiny lies on the hand of texters worldwide.
ADVANTAGE: An advantage of all contestants, beautiful or not so beautiful
DISADVANTAGE: To those intelligent and beautiful ( can't assure of their chances)
How about you guys? Are you in favor or not on this system?

Yes, you're right!I am very annoyed with this trend in beauty pageants now, texter choice scheme ruin the real spirit of beauty pageants. Why organizers do this?well because of the profit they will gain, just imagine the profit sharing they will received from their network partners, Good heavens!why everything is so commercialized? I thought beauty pageants are being organized for a specific purpose and cause and why they commercialized it?the essence of beauty pageants is already gone.
I am not wondering in one of these days the prestigious OSCAR awards and Nobel Prize awards will stage a text marathon also and based their winners based on texter votes,what a waste!

well rather than get the bias choices of judges(just their opinions) I think it would mean a great deal more to me if I won when people vote for me. If I lose well I won't hold it against everyone in the world, gotta try harder. It's just hard to say really there are always advantages and dis advantages to everything, nothing can be one or the other. But I think all out vote is better than the vote of few.

hmmm...
this to me sounds like the contest is in danger of becoming ruined by people's political voting, much like the eurovision song contest.
it would be ashame to see another long running contest destoyed because of this type of thing happening.
