People say the world will end in 2012.
Some say the world will explode in 2039.
Alot have said that the world will end in the next few milleniums.
Is the world really going to end so quickly?
What are your views?
Are scientists wrong?

You know because the whole idea of doomsday is derived from the ancient mayan calenders which say that some great event will happen in 2012 that will alter the course of humanity. It is blown way out of porportion by crazy people. Usually what the Mayans meant by a great event was something either good or sort of bad. They certainly didnt mean that the world was going to be destroyed. Do you really think that the world is going to end? After all the same people that say that the world will end in 2012 said that the world was going to end in 2000. That is a little to shady for me to beleive and i won't be fooled by it.

What I believe is that nobody can predict when the world will end. Those predictions are made by human and I think it is just to nice to have that number. Remember that those years are made by human and I am not so sure what's so special about that number.
Scientists are human too. They can be wrong definitely.

I think one of reasons for the 2012 prophecy is because the Mayan calendar doesn't go any further than 2012. I guess they were shortsighted for only making it last like 1500 years. I don't think anyone knows the end of the world. Also, for us the end of the world is really the end of mankind. The Earth can still go on with beavers being the most sentient creatures, but we wouldn't be around to ponder and opine about it.

Im sure if you look hard enough you will find someone that says the world will in on any day of the year, in any year, and so on. Hey, eventually someone will be right, huh? Personally, I think the whole thing is silly, why do so many people sit around worrying about how the world will end? Everyone has their prediction hoping to make themselves famous, but if the world did end at some predicted time who would be here to say, "oh, so-and-so was right". I side with the scientists, our biggest threat is probably going to be from outer space. Asteroid, gamma ray bursts, galaxy collisions, etc. Although, if humans continue to trash the planet they way we are now, does anyone really want to be here when the world ends? Seems like a pretty bleak future to me.

in the 2012 there is a sun storm, it can make many disasters all over the world.
but that just a prediction, all the things can happen because of God. If God say no, that thing won't happen, and the world won't end.
We just can pray to God.

Science and religion have been debating for so long how the world has started and now we are having thoughts on when the world will end. I think if we have proven real facts about the creation, then it's a good time to discuss it's end.

Scientists have also stated that the world is flat, the Earth revolves around the sun, and that the world would end in the past, and so far, we're still here :D My feelings are that if it happens, there's nothing I can do about it, anyway.
