I need to write more

I joined this site because I have not written much lately. Here, it is forcing me to write. This is great excercise because it forces me to write about things I never would have otherwise. The next thing I need to get back on track is my guitar playing. I haven't played much lately either. With some excercise in both these areas, I'm hoping to become the strong singer/ songwriter I once was. Trouble is, even when I used to write, I would encounter writers block quite often. That is, a complete blank. No subject. Writing on myLot should help me overcome that. Maybe I should write a song about MyLot!

I'm gonna keep that in mind! I get my guitar back next week. I have another post about that. But, when I get it, I'm gonna work on a MyLot song. I'm still very new here so, any ideas will be graciously accepted!

Awesome! A Frodo limerick! Thanks so much! And it is so suiting for him with his allergies and all. He is contantly chewing his bone(s) and I am constantly yelling "no"! Very insightful, thank you!

I think myLot does help with forming expression, completing thoughts, and especially with being succinct in communication. So much blogging and writing is a lot of blah-blah-blah. The smart communicator keeps it short and to the point.

I think you have something there. I'm very new here, but, also, it seems that the smart blogger chooses his topics wisely. Topics that will generate the most responses get you the most money.

I've found with both creative writing and specifically song writing, the more you accept writer's block the more it rules you. I think the thing that is absolutely key in all creative things is doing it as and when you feel like it, and because you want to, not because you feel like you should. I suffered almost two years of writer's block, and then one day stopped thinking about it and picked up a pen and I was over it. Go with the flow, and see what happens!

Heh. I didn't even think of MyLot being good for writing until you mentioned it. I came here to answer discussions because I'm a sucker for forums like this. Come to think of it, this place certainly is helpful in terms of getting used to typing a ton again. But, while it might help with writing in and of itself, that doesn't mean that it'll motivate you to work on other projects. Still, it can help, at least to type more and faster. Lol! Writer's block blows chunks.

No, it won't. But, it will sure help keep that creativity spark from burning out like as if I wasn't writing at all. You are right, my typing skills have improved dramatically. Problem is, I used to know how to type....at some point, I reverted back to the old two finger pounding. I am quickly becoming a master at it. Hey, look at that, another topic for a discussion. "Using MyLot for typing practice"! Thanks for the response!
