I am a student from Beijing,China,as you know,China has more students and little good colleges. After I graduated from my Senior School,I choose a different kind of college, self taught higher education.I studyed in the college for one year, and then I quit from school and started to work .I like this way,I can work and learn at the same time.I can get my diploma when i finished all my courses. It takes 3 or 4year.I wanna to be indenpendant when i was young. In this way,I make it!And my major is English! I want to know if your country has this kind of study, and whatis your opinion towards this? Thanks.

Not very many things here in the US have independent study.. You can go to college and sometimes test out certain courses with your knowledge... and not have to take all of them, but that is very rare for anything to test out into passing that way.. I know in my church we have independant studies as ministers.. And its kind of hard as we have to study and learn ourselves through books how to be a good minister... I do okay in most things.. But I struggle with normal non ministeral things. - DNatureofDTrain
