What would you do if you won the lottery?

If you live in the Philippines, you'd get it, why I'm asking a question such as this. Over here, the prize money for the lotto went up to Php230 Million--almost $6 Million. People are betting left and right, there are even first-timers who are betting right now hoping to win the prize. It hasn't been won since December last year, so the annticipation to win it is unbelievable.
Q: If you won that kind of money, what would you do?
The first thing I would do--and with this I am being honest--is I am going to build a house for myself. I don't know why I even have that idea, but it's the most part-sensible, part-lavish thing to do. After that I'll split it up to five or six, so that everyone in our house gets to have part of it. And maybe save up a million for my sister's college education... the rest goes to the bank. Even if I hadn't won that lottery, I have more money than I'll ever need, so I don't have to worry so much anymore.
How about you?

It sounds like you would be very sensible with the money. I would also build a home and I would remodel the one that I live in and give it to my daughter so that she had a nice starter home. I would pay off the bills that we have and I would invest some of the money so that I had more coming in and then I would quit the job that I have as I don't like it anyway.

Hi there Chance!
I am from the Philippines too and yes, I get what you're talking about. Tha jackpot for the Lotto now is really high.
Well, if ever I win the lottery, like you, I will finish the house that we are having made. We stopped the construction temporarily because of financial reasons. Then, I would put some of the money in time deposit for my son's future. After that, I will give my immediate relatives money so they can start a small business. Then, I will start a food bank here in our province and start investing on something and get volunteers and donations so that the food bank will continue to work after my initial donation.
Then, I will start another business, maybe another internet cafe in another municipality, a restaurant, and the rest I will spend traveling in other countries.

I like your proposals, most especially since our country is in dire need of financial assistance.
I never thought of giving part of my 'dream money' to charity, because my way of charity is part-small, part-big in more ways than one. I hope that when you win you get to do those things though.

Hi, fellow Filipino.
I'm fully aware of this condition you mentioned here. Anyone would be tempted to bet in the current winnings at stake in the lottery since it is getting higher and higher by the day.
Personally, I haven't bet for the last 2 draws of the 6/49 Superlotto. First, I don't feel like betting at this time. And honestly, I lack the extra funds to spare for the lottery. I'm not a heavy better, too. On the average, I bet about once in a couple of months or even more seldom.
At the most, I have won 800 pesos more than 3 years ago. This is about 16 dollars. Somehow, this is a blessing because we used it for my monthly check-up then, when I was pregnant with our first child.
Hopefully if I ever win the grand prize in the local lottery, I plan to give 10 percent of the total winnings to various charitable institutions. I will give about 10 million pesos to my parents and my parents-in-law. My spouse and I have already agreed on this subject. A portion will be utilized for purchasing our own parcel of land where we plan to build our own house. Further, about 2 million will be used to purchased additional hectares of land for plantation of various fruits and vegetables. We also dream of having our own business where we could employ less fortunate Filipinos and out-of-school youths so that in one way, we will be able to ease their burden and uplift them from poverty.
Furthermore, we will be able to finally extinguish our substantial monetary obligations with various individuals, credit card companies, pawnshops, and loan agencies. About 10 million pesos will be segregated for our only child's future education. Then, approximately 20 million pesos will be deposited in various local banks to cover our (me & my husband's) prime years. I still have to plan for the rest of the money but I guess this will have to do for now.
