breast implants: are you for or against them?

breast augmentation has long since been a common surgical procedure. women who want bigger breasts get implants and instantly get results. but this procedure is surrounded by a lot of controversy. others say it is risking too much to gain too little. others say it is okay to risk your life to improve the quality of life you have. how about you, what do you think of breast implants? if your friend had one, how would you react? if your child (no longer a minor) asked for one, what would you say?

Very rarely do women die from this procedure. If it happens, normally it is because they did not do their research and fine a doctor who was qualified to do the procedure. No an implant does not last forever, but it last for a long time. 15-25yrs. Sometimes longer. I don't think it is wrong to get an implants as long as you are doing it for personal gain and not to impress the rest of the world. I think its funny that alot of guys are so against women who have them, but stare at the women who do, or watch the x-rate films that most women have implants or get the mags that 98% of the women at completely fake, lipo, lifts, tucks, injections.. you know what I mean.

I don't have them yet I will be getting them on March 9th. I believe I will be going with the Saline instead of the Silicone. But that I will decide on Feb 24th with my doctor.

each option has its own set of pros and cons. be sure to have ample time to decide. =) i also like surgeons who work with a team, which includes physical therapists and psychiatrists. the psych consult doesn't merely screen for patients who are not ideal for the procedure; they also provide support after the procedure as having a totally different body image can have quite an emotional and mental impact. =) i like doctors who cover all the bases. that way, i know they're really thinking of the best possible picture for their patient.

If they improve a Woman's quality of life and confidence,I'd be for them. When they cause Her instead to spiral out of control and self destruct through a desire for more and more surgery in a search for "Perfection" or getting into a destructive lifestyle,I'd be against...but the choice is the individual's call.. It could be the Majority of these procedures are successful, going as planned, and everything post-op going well for the Patient, but then again I'm not sure what percentage are botched or deteriorate to cause illness over time, but those that do reach the media don't make for inspiring reading or viewing.. I haven't yet known any Women who've had such procedures performed..maybe my negative leaning towards the idea of this surgery would change if I did! I don't have a Daughter..for now,the thought would give Me concern Me if She lacked the self confidence to feel this would be the way to improve things...

I think that it is all up to the person getting them. As long as they know the risks involved and can make an educated decision then so be it. I have never known anyone that has had any. Most of the people that I know go for the reduction surgery. If my child decided to do this when they are grown up then they can. Like I said as long as they know the pro's and con's.

I have had many discussions with doctors about a reduction. They say it would help my back. But from what I have heard it is painful.

i don't care if someone else will be doing it but if one of my family member or girlfriend will be doing it, i'll be against it because it's such a waste of money and What about the side effects of that in the future? i'll be so worried about them. it'll make them look good or hot, but it's fake.. and for me, fake will never be beautiful.
