Me working as Santa Claus in Shopping Mall - One Christmas season I helped a photographer friend who had the Santa display at the mall. He was short a Santa one night and I took the job for that night. In addition to $25 pay, I received homemade cookies from a number of children and had a ball having them tell me what they wanted and poseing with them for pictures.
I have two 23 year olds, a 19 and a 17 year old so all of them have figured out who Santa Claus is. However, when they were younger they believed Santa Claus was real and I encouraged the belief. We still hang up stockings for the whole family and every Christmas morning there is one gift from Santa Claus for each member of the family (including my wife and me). My 19 year old now helps me fill the stockings each Christmas Eve. We also believe in the Easter Bunny and leprechauns.

My son is 6 and yes he belives in Santa, even after a summer visit with this father (when he was 4) who told him there is no such thing... I was very upset at him for taking away a piece of my son's innocence, and still am.

Yea I will most definently tell my kids about Santa Clause. I remember how excited I was about Santa when I was young and the warm feeling I got from it. I want my kids to experience that same kind of thrill. Actually I still miss that warm feeling myself haha.

Okay, I have tried to tell my son that Santa isnt real. Just because I never wanted him crying to me later and telling me I lied to him. Well, he refuses to believe me. lol So, on Christmas I put things out from "Santa" because what kind of mom would I be if I said, "See? I told you he wasnt real?"

My daughter believed in Santa and my grandaughter (who will be 7 months old at Christmas so a lot of it will go over her head!) is alredy being told about Santa. It's fun and part of the magic of Christmas for children (and grown-ups!). I don't understand these people that think there's something wrong with it - there's time enough to be sensible and serious and "realistic" when you're an adult.

heck! I still believe in Santa...afterall, Santa is the spirit of giving and caring about other people. I think Santa is a great hero fro young children and a lesson in giving for adults.

No, I don't want to go that route, but my hubby doesn't see any harm in it.

no... because it's a lie! it's like teaching them that superman really exist and spider-man really is your neighbor! instead i'm gonna teach them that Jesus Christ really existed and the bible is the word of God... amen!

I wasn't going to, but then I thought about how they would feel when they reached school and found out they were the only ones 'not good enough' for santa claus.

When I have children, I won't tell them about Santa Clause. Eventually they will find out that he does not exist so it will be better for them not to believe in him ever at all. The Easter bunny too because, what the heck do bunnies and eggs have to do with the Resurrection?

I let my children believe in Santa, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny and all of that stuff. I love to watch their reactions when they get stuff and how much fun they have. Leaving cookies out for Santa each year and having my husband eat them so that they won't know.

So many people stop believing in the wonder in this life, it's almost like society tries to beat the joy out of us. Of course I hope my children will believe, that is if we ever have kids :) I'm 31 and still believe in Santa, well the spirit of Santa of course. I don't think that believing in Santa takes away from the religious aspects of the holiday, I think both can be celebrated if one wants too that is. I think the true meaning behind the holiday is Love..I just wish we kept the spirit of Christmas within our hearts everyday of the year and shared that spirit everyday, what a more wonder filled world we woudl life in if that were true :)
