Open relationships fly in the face of what a relationship is supposed to be about. A relationship is supposed to be a commitment to another person...committing your time, your care and concern, your intimacy and emotional support to that person. You can't have it both ways. If you're seeing someone else you're taking away from the relationship in favor of someone else. Seems to me that folks who want to have an open relationship should just remain single and date. There's no limit on the number of people you can go out with while you're single.

My opinion on an open relationship is that if you need to do it then you are not with the one you need to be with. I think it would cause problems, because you can't really have trust in this type of relationship. If you are with the one who can trust you and that you can trust, why do you need someone else?

Open relationships as in to say free to date? I think that if one was to do this some heavy talking would have to commence so that both parties are aware of the circumstances and are free to do as they wish, so as to not hurt the other. My fiance and I don't like it ourselves.
