I'm saving money but nothing in particular really 'cause I believe that whether we want something particular or not, we should save so that when difficult time comes, we have some resources that we could use. How about you guys? Do you want anything in particular and you're saving money for it?

I am actually saving up for our wedding. My fiance and I have decided that we are gonna pay for it, without any help from our parents. It's expensive, though and we both have to currently tighten our fists quite a bit. But I know it will all be worth it. It's also our way of proving to everybody else that we can now stand on our own.

Wow, that's great. Congratulations. I hope you guys will work it out well. That true, it's better not to ask for any help, not that you don't want them to pry but it's a way of letting them know that you guys are ready. Thanks for the respond!

Yes i do, i am saving money for our future family. I am already married and i wanted to help my husband also so that when we do have kids, if God's will we can buy the things we needed for them.
At the same time, it is important also to save money for buying a house so that we will not rent anymore. It will be an advantage if you own a place because it can also be a good investment.
Then probably i can also use the extra dough i will gain here, well if God's will, i will buy something like a parakeet.

Hi there! I am saving for my trip to Boracay, the #1 white beach in the world. I will be staying there for 3 days and two nights. The resort and foods are expensive so I am really trying my best not to spend money this past few days. I actually have a plan of opening a bank account when I get my fix income. I want to save money so I have something to spend when I go abroad.

Hey there! Boracay is great, it's a lot of fun there but yeah, it's so much expensive, the trip, the hotel, the food and stuff but I'm sure you'll enjoy it so have fun and make the most out of it! Good luck!

That's sad. I wish I could help but there's nothing much I could do. I know that it's really hard these days. Don't worry, just think that someday, it'll be okay. Thanks for responding to my discussion.

I am saving up money for one thing that I want. I'd like a Nintendo Wii. Those things are pretty expensive and I've thought about using all my online earnings, or at least as much of the online earnings as I can to help pay for it. I know at this rate it will take me quite a long time to get it but I'm planning on working hard for it. However, if something does come up and I'll need to use the money then I'll use it but right now, that's my goal.

I know that if you're really determined and working hard for it, you'll get it. Wii is cool. I like that also. Unfortunately, I only have Nintendo DS but it's good too, but Wii is way cooler good luck!

I'm not really saving my money for anything, but I am trying to pay my bills in advance. That way if something happens down the line, I won't feel so stressed out if I don't have the money to pay something right away.

having a child i should be ready for anything. so i am really saving. but for now i dont know what for. maybe for a trip or for a cool toy. as long as i know i make ita point to put amount on my bank that i can get for a rainy day, for a good cause or for a pleasure escapade. each and every one of us must have a little saving so we have something to bring out in case of emergency and in case you want to relax and have fun.

I'm not saving up for anything in particular either. Some day, all my savings will be wasted on one item, I just know it. xD Okay, maybe not. I do have general long-term items that I want, but those items would take a lot more money. I try to limit myself from buying small things that I don't need, but occasionally, I buy some items here and there. I mainly save money for trips and souvenirs since I consider them a one-in-a-lifetime chance.

I feel silly now, after those responses about saving for things that really matter! I am stashing a little money here and there for my next tattoo and for a guitar. Two things I want very badly, but I will not allow myself to have yet. I have made a decision that once I lose 20 pounds, I will reward my self with a new tattoo, so I cant cheat. After that comes the guitar. We are also trying a new theory, its called saving for emergencies. Instead of spending all our money, we hold some back now for all those little annoyances that tend to pop up all the time.

Hi Dutchess! I am also one of those rare peopl who save money, but not for anything in particualr. I have been raised to believe that if you save a little money every week from your paycheck, you will have money for nice things or emergencies. It is very hard to do in these tight times, but I acctually have a savings account that I put $20.00 a month into, and it may only have about $100.00 or os dollars in it at a time, I have been very happy that the money was there for CHristmas, a special night out or whatever. Have a great day!

im saving money for my wedding! nyahahaha and also to be secured in the future, gone were the days when all i think of is myself, now i have to think of my future children, for their education, allowance, diapers, milk, etc... i mean i should not rely on my future husband alone to work for the family. we should work together in raising our family. if wives would like to be financially stable in a family, then they should also work and contribute. =)

I have been trying to save money so that I can help my parents who are now getting old. They survive on pension, but if there are major expenditure they look upto their children for support. I love my parents and I want them to be happy. I also support their youngest son, my brother who is studying medicine. I'm glad that our family memebers could help each other. So do save money? Not much now, but I do and I want to so that those whom I love I can help.

Ofcourse, we have to save money especially now that there's a global crisis. We have to be practical and be wise in spending money. I'm saving my money for my education, I'll becoming Freshman college on the next sem and will gonna take Multimedia Arts here in the Philippines. Because of the high tuition fees I need to save money. The money that I've got from my clients in web designing/graphic designing and ofcourse some payments from online making money.

Well, I am saving money for a particular purpose. it is good to save when you have a plan or where to spend it someday. with this, you have a focus and determination to achieve want you want because you have a purpose for that. It is very inspiring when you have this in mind before you start saving.

yes definitely we save money for future expenses. its better to have something than nothing when somethings happen. especially the things thats happening now in our economy we should save atleast for emergency. now my main goal is to save for the enrollment of my kids cause months from now i should have money for their schools. and not only that for their expenses also. i wish there are some more ways to earn money so that i can save faster. lots of things to settle.

what motivates me to save money (and to work) is travel. i usually travel at least 3 times a year so i always set aside money to spend for my vacations.
