How can I use internet in Ubuntu?

I am new Ubuntu User. I use 8.10 desktop edition. But I can't configure my internet connection in Ubuntu. For details my IP address : 192.168.32.60; Subnet mask : 255.255.255.240; Default gateway : 192.168.32.49; Preferred DNS server : 116.212.111.2; Alternate DNS server : 116.212.104.81.
Can any one help me to configure my internet.
I am waiting for reply, please reply me as soon as possible

Connecting to the internet should not be a problem with Ubuntu. I guess you should check if Ubuntu has detected your LAN Driver. There are LAN drivers that are not available for Ubuntu and you should research on the kind of driver that your lan port would run in Linux environment.
