Salt, as we know, it is a type of white crystal that use to preserve food, make your food taste awesome. However, do you know this simple crystal would implicates into heart attack? According to Macgregor, the chairman of Cash (Consensus Action on Salt and Health), he says that it is implicated in 120000 heart attack deaths a year in Britain. Baked beans, breakfast cereals, pizza, soup, and cooking sauce tend to be salt-lavish, but so are some sweet foods, such as biscuits and hots chocolate. Excessive consumption of salt will lead to water retention. People who eat too mush salt could have a litre and half of extra fluid sloshing in their veins. This means that there is more blood for the heart to pump, and the blood pressure will goes up. A team from the university of Utah School of Medicine identified three variations in a bit of human machinery called the angiotensinogen gene.. High levels of hormone produced by this gene also correlated with high blood pressure. They reported in 1998 that variants in the gene made some people much more sensitive to salt. So far some, a low salt diet had a significant effect on blood pressure. We have to consume least salt per day. Only 6mg of salt is consume by our body everyday. Take care of your heart. Live in a healthy lifestyle.

thanks for the information u have given. and it is so useful to many people here. we indians take more salt in every food item we prepare. and so many are attacking blood pressure and even many health problems we are getting. after seeing high blood pressures for both my parents ,last year i decided to take less salt in any food. instead of salt we can take lime juice in any food we prepare and so i am trying to add lime juice in every food i prepare.
