I watched last night with great anticipation. I was disappointed, and then thrilled by the contestants last night! Some of them really bombed, I guess nerves got to them, but there were also a few shining new stars for me...
I think for sure that Danny Gokey and Alexis Grace will go on, but who will be the third to go through to the top 12? My third favorite last night surprised the heck out of me; it was Tatiana Del Toro of all people! Her voice sounded great, and she looked really confident.
Also, what do you all think about American Idol changing it's format? It is similar to how they used to do things up until Season 4, and I think I like it this way better! Tell me what you think...

According to DialIdol, it looks like it will be Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace and Tatiana Del Toro. Personally, I like Tatiana. Not because of her voice or anything, but just because she's entertaining and ridiculous. The show can get pretty repetitive with the same personalities singing the same songs year after year. So I Tatiana had my vote. Based on vocals, Danny Gokey was great. Based on performance, Alexis Grace was fun to watch. So I hope Dial Idol is right and these three make it through! American Idol didn't change the format, it just went back to the original format.

I did not know about Dial Idol. Is it a website, and if so what is it? I guess I'm like a lot of people this year who are taken in by the ones they have put in the forfront for us to enjoy. I hope they all continue to do well in this revamped format.

I am pissed b/c when American Idol came to my town, I didn't even hear the news until it was too late....It was almost as if they purposely tried to keep it hush hush. So I don't watch it as much as I used to.... Right now I"m trying to keep a positive attitude. Maybe they will come back. I just got a brainstorm of an idea..maybe I will chat about it later!

I didn't get a chance to watch it last night. I have it taped and thought I would watch it tonight before tonights show is on, so lots of Idol for me tonight.
I hope that Tatiana doesn't go threw...I can't stand that girl! I love Danny too, so can't wait to see him tonight.
I like the way Idol is doing it this year too.

I finally watched it and you are right. Tatiana kicked butt! She was totally a different person and did a great job. I didn't think she woudl go threw ~ the gal who did with the pink stripe on her hair was much better.
I was so happy to see Danny go threw. The other guy was ok, I have always liked him, but was surprised he beat the younger kid with dark hair. (sorry, I am not good with all the names.)

I just hope I am able to get into it this year. No one has jumped out and grabbed me yet. The only two years I have really enjoyed it, Chris Daughtry and David Cook both grabbed me during tryout weeks. We'll see if I stick around this year.
Tatiana.... she did sing well last night. I'm not sure if I can handle the drama queen stuff. I have low tolerance for that kind of behavior.
Right now, Danny and Alexix look pretty good to me too.

I say stick around! Even if the talent only turns out to be so-so, its still a fun show to watch! I have found favorites later on in the season in past years, too. FOr example, I did not love Jordin Sparks until about halfway through season six, then she had a great week, and I knew she could win. Now I listen to her music all the time. Hang in ther and thanks for the response!

I like this way much better on how they are doing it. I love Danny he is my favorite and has been for a while now. My mom really likes Anoop and he really is good but the song choice last night was just not good and that song choice is something they need to choose wisely on because that is how they get there votes. The judges dont vote anymore it is us america that votes and me and my mom call in and vote and not just once for are favotire but a number of times. I know only three or four go on from that group and i hope america makes it right because alot of the guys i believe did alot better than some of the girls but i did enjoy two of the girls from last night i just dont know there names yet. It was the first girl and then the skinny short blode girl with the pink in her hair. Tatiana did really good last night but i believe her to be annoying and trying to gain the cameras attention and that annoyes me. We will see what happens tonight on American Idol.

You are right, Lolo. This way is better because it lets the good people go on and the people who did only OK can get a second chance. By the way, the two girls names are Alexis Grace (the little blonde with the soulfull voice) and Jackie Tohn was the first singer. They both rocked!

I think your comments are spot on nerves and song choice doomed a few. This format is cool, it should be the top three vote getters not top male/female. I loved Alexis Grace I thought the rest of the woman were weak. I will also agree that Tatiana was a huge suprise, being reserved and singing well. I am not sure based on the negatives she is getting on the AI boards she can make it. I think once again you nailed it with Gokey so for my #3 could be Anoop or The oil rigger guy because he has alot of buzz on the AI boards as well but his song choice and performence may leave him on the outside looking in. Another question is after three weeks 9 will be in, and there will be 27 looking for the last three spots how will that be decided?

Thank you so muchj for your comments! As far as I know, after the next two weeks, when 9 have been picked, the judges get to pick a final 12 people to compete in a wild card round of their favorites. This has worked in the past, just look at Clay Aikin! Have a great day!

I am disappointed with tonight's episode. I'm expecting for the performances to be great. There are lots of great talents who did not make it to the Top 36 and I'm kinda wishing for them to be in that position. I like Michael's performance and I love Danny's! Simon is not in a good mood today because Danny is amazing! Hope he make it through.

Tatiana really surprised me, as well! I thought she really did great compared to some of the other contestants. Alexis Grace was a sure winner, wasn't she? Danny Gokey is always good but last night he was good but the song was boring.
What is it with A.I. contestants? I've noticed very few of them do upbeat songs, even though the contestants who do the upbeat songs are usually the winners!
I really wish they showed more of the auditions. I also thought they were going to show more of the behind the scenes stuff as well.
One thing that I really hate about this show is the judge's table right now. Every time one of them puts their hand down on it for emphasis, it makes such a huge and annoying bang. I really am disappointed, I would have thought that someone from the show would have caught that from last year!

i also watched it last night... their real solo performance, it seems that they were all nervous, they took seriously on it but it wasnt enough to boost their confidence.
