as you're probably well aware, everything was named well before our time.
i don't know how they figured out who named things, or why things were called certain things, that's just the way it is.
and i'm sure ancient mariners had a hand in naming the creatures from the deep blue sea.
fish, dolphins, WHALES.
then they broke them down into different species.....
"look at those ones hunting in a pack.....what perfect killers.......we'll call them killer whales"
"look at that big fella with the hump on it's back.........we'll call them humpback whales""look at that big beautiful BLUE whale..........we'll have to think about that one for a while"
so, why did they name the SPERM whale, SPERM WHALE
???what were they drinking???
do you think the "spermies" like their name???
from now on, i shall refer to them as Box-Head Whales.

I'm 2 weeks late..was out riding on a Sperm Whale..
and trying to find a Seaman..and all i found was the bottom of the deep blue sea..

Hey Officer Sconibear! Nice getup you got there! You can get
in trouble impersonating a Police Bear ya know? I guess you're
right about the naming thing! Who knows who and why they, whoever
"they" are name things what they did! So if it suits you to
re-name the whales then go right ahead! It's ok with me! I don't
think the whales are going to give you any lip! Do they have
lips? Oh, anyway go name them whatever you want! It's all good
with me! I'll vote for the Box-Head Whales!
