Information sites?!

Hiya guys. Does anyone know websites which provide you details/information on other websited. E.g we log on to that website and search for another site and poof! Info like the websites age,owner and stuff are there...so does anyone know?

I been working on such websites to help me and others such as yourself avoid scam sites i have about 3 of them sofar,but, the best known one is www.whois.com it will tell you who own the site as well as when they started the site hope this helps....
