Hey guys, I'm currently in high school, and I desperately need a new computer. I've been saving up for a while, hoping for a Macbook (Pro particularly) but I was wondering if it's worth the time to save up for it when I could just buy a Windows laptop. (Dell, Vaio, brands like that)
Just wanted your opinion and stories, Should i continue saving or just buy a laptop now?
Thanks

I think Windows is more friendly than Mac. Windows have much supports on internet if we get trouble in windows. Mac is better for design graphics. I recommend you to buy a Windows laptop cause you are still in high school.

I would go for the Windows version.I have never used a Mac,but have been told that any Windows version is more reliable and you can do more with it.

There's no easy answer on that one, apples and oranges (no pun intended). I've used both Mac (OSX variety) and Windows (from 3.1 all way to the Windows 7 on beta right now). I'd say it just depends on your familiarity, I don't have problems doing my stuff on either platform (I'm a programmer and sometimes Sys Admin by the way, I also write a lot ; I don't play much on computers -- so that should give you a background of where I'm coming from, my needs could be different from your needs).
Why were you saving up for the Mac by the way, and why the pro? the entry level mac books should be able to take you far, if you so decide on the Mac.
But I'll give you this advise, just pick one, either of them; What's important is how you feel about owning it, and how much time you are willing to devote learning either -- I think more importantly, how much are you willing to spend for it, PCs and Mac's cost are not really that far away from each other, I got my Mac Book for a little over USD 1,100 here in the Philippines, similarly spec'ed laptops cost generally the same.
So, it's really up to you.
