question about stimulus?!

So I am not sure how this bill helps us. Will someone please explain it to me? I did some math and figured out that if we got the 787 Billion dollars and divided it by the number of people who currently reside in the USA which is roughly around 305 million, each person would get about $2600. When you think about tax payers, which is roughly about half of the American population, you can double that amount. How is this money going to help the economy? I am not sure I get it and what risks are involved with it? All I hear is the Governors are afraid to accept the money, and that President Obama has put the American people in debt for the next 2 generations.

We had be carefulnot to spend it all in one place,LOL! If that is not a pathetic attempt at giving relief to the American tax payers, I don't know what is. If they would have took out some of the non-stimulative spending and gave that to hurting Americans, that would have made more sense to me.

So what happens to people like me who lost their job and unemployment cut me off because I missed some meeting? I don't see any of that money and I am still out of a job.

I am not american so i would give outside view as economy of Usa does effect economy all over the world. It has been seen doing out money will only benefit richie richs of the world. So the promoters get the money and what would they do.. they would come back to govt with begging bowls again. with nearly 800 billion $ govt cud have put new steel plants or labour intensive factories so many more americans would have jobs and not live on dole. I am always against giving free money to anyone because everytime there is trouble u know u would be bailed out and the incentive to work hard is gone

Here is the way I understand it: Each person will be getting $13.00 more on their paycheck. That is the stimulus money we're getting. 13 dollars a week more. So if you get paid once every two weeks, you'll see 26 dollars more on your paycheck. Or $52.oo a month. Don't think anyone will be buying any new cars with that extra 52.00 a month, do you?
