I want to get my son's name tattooed on me and I was think of the hand but my brother said that alot of tattoo artists don't like to do the hands in fear of touching a nerve so what about the wrists? Where is a good place to get your childs name or someone you loves name tattooed on you.

I have a tattoo on the top side of my wrist and it was no problem. I have a cousin who got a little blue foot tattooed on her ankle with her sons initials on it and it was awesomely done.

Oh wow is that ever cute! I am thinking of one shoulder blade for each child, but I could also do that with legs, ankles, or arms too!

I don't think you are supposed to get a tattoo on the inside of your wrist because the veins are too close to the surface there. You could possibly get it on the other side though. My friend has a tattoo on her hand from the thumb to her forefinger around the U shape. But that's a very small tattoo, how long is your son's name? lol

You can get a tattoo on the inside of the wrist. I have one on both wrist. The veins arent to close to the surface.

I think the reason they usually don't tattoo on hands is because it is harder for the ink to stay. Your wrist is probably a good place to get someone's name tattooed. I also like the idea of getting it on the outside edge of your foot because there is a lot of room there and it would sit nicely even if the name is a longer one.

I agree that your hands is not the best place, but your wrist is okay! I have a tattoo on my left wrist, and my best friend has the exact same one on her left wrist too! I have a 3 year old daughter, and I have a baby on the way due in October. After baby is born and I can save the cash I want to get a tattoo for my daughter on one shoulder, and new baby on the other!

You can get a tattoo on your hand. Are you thinking of getting it on the palm or the top side? If you are thinking about the top then it is possible, but doesn't look that great. On the palm, the type of skin we have there, it is hard for the ink to take and stay in it. So that is why they wouldn't do it there. I recommend the wrist

You can get a tattoo most anywhere, different artists will let you know if they're comfortable doing it. Alot of places won't tattoo on the hand or wrist if it's your first tattoo. I think that's mainly for the 'are you SURE' you want a tattoo reason!!
I have friends with tattoos on their hands and wrist, a colleague just got his daughter's name and a bird tattoos on the area on the back of his hand between thumb and index finger.
Anywhere is a good place for it, as long as that's where you want it :D

My daughter has one on the inside of her wrist, I hear that if a woman gets one on her chest about where your bra strap goes down right in that area where it's really fleshy, it's not supposed to hurt. But I really don't know I really want to get a tattoo on my leg.
