Dream Advisors

'Reka' and 'Tai' are two made up characters that appear in my dreams from time to time. They give me advice of things that I am having trouble with or I just need someone to talk to. If I am having a terrible nightmare Reka will come and calm me. If my teachers give me twelve different assignments all due on the same day, Tai would come and help resolve them. I know I probably sound nuts but it helps me. Do you have a dream advisor(s)? If so tell me about them.

These two are 'alter egos'. You are not nuts by any means. It is sometimes useful to us to have parts of ourselves that discipline us or exhort us to do things or calm us to say that everything is going to be fine. I think it comes from very early childhood when it was usually our mother's voice that we heard doing that. What you are doing by allowing these two characters into your dreams is giving yourself the love that you deserve (and perhaps have difficulty allowing yourself in your waking life). My youngest daughter had two characters called Bic and Akun. I don't think they appeared in her dreams but they certainly had some advisory powers (and also got blamed for spilled food, &c). They are a little different, I know (and can be pooh-poohed as a child's imagination) but we are all children to a certain extent - we all have an inner child to whom we are both the parent that, sometimes, our parents never were and the 'child' which represents the best and happiest in us. Everyone is different and has different needs. Give Reka and Tai the honour and love they deserve because they are you!

... and now I re-read and see that Reka is what I should have said!
