So many automatic products had came in d market.. Lik iron box, washing machine,etc., which wil hav auto off! Does it really mean, it saves power consumption r it consumes power but stops power input

I think the machine consumes power but bcoz of auto power off, it stops the power supply for sometime and avoids in being over heated
